Please DON'T REPORT any issue with such configuration, it's not supported in ANY WAY.

As a side note ExternalPlugin is exactly where MiniDisplay started from :p

one more try: is there any way to tell the minidisplay-plugin to turn off/on an imon (or any?) display e.g. by another mp plugin?
    thank you,

Ok so not even 7.60.0521 is working?

    I wrote < or = so 7.60.xxx is fine :p

    Simone

I figued that but had to check because 7.60.0521 is not working for me.
Do I need some special setting or something? I upgraded from 6.xx and did not change anything with minidisplay and the display don't restart after resume.
I am not even sure it works after reset either. I have not tested. After it goes black I need to go into minidisplay config and tick different checkboxes and press "test" and eventually it starts again but as soon as I enter standby and then resume lcd is black again.

could it be that the imon_7_77xxxxx (latest @ soundgraph.com) version "kill" my plugins @ the Mediaportal-configuration?

since i installed it ... i can't have a look @ the plugins in mepo conf anymore..

after 4 or 5 minutes i can see the plugins - but no reaction by mouse/click action IN the plugins...
it is like mepo crashes ... (tskmgr also says - no response @ confiration.exe) :(

    EDIT says:

so version 7_60 somethin brought it back ...
works like it should BUT - slow - very slow ... sometimes i scrol thru the menu
it needs 3 or 5 seconds to display the sub-menu name ...

    hmm that sucks ...

also the equalizer works like an old breakdancer ;) ...

anyone got a solution for that?

    thanks in advice

I am running imon manager version 7.7 and it works. At first it did not, because I let the Imon software auto update to 7.8. After much frustation I removed the whole thing and re-installed iMon (Veris) from the Cd which is ver. 7.6. I set up minidisplay plug-in with the Soundgraph driver, text mode. On the advanced tab, select display type VFD, click "verify driver is running", and optionally, select the equalizer options. Oh, and just so you know, with my display the contrast/brightness/graphic mode options do not work, so nevermind those.
It works very good. I have the Antec Veris Elite display (from amazon), the one that you add on to your existing case.

I also have the RM200 remote control working with both windows and mediaportal flawlessly.
After translating the German side of the forums (google translate & babelfish), I started to make headway into the solutions. (the german side of the forums have a lot of solutions to things that are not translated).

I also found this guide that simply WORKS (beatifully):
MediaPortal - Setup guide for Silverstone LC16M Case | iMon Remote Setup, iMon VFD Setup, iMon Front Button Hack

proving those kiwis know a thing or two about mediaportal and imon too!

    Cheers!

BTW, I own a VFD from them and I don't run iMON manager because I use IRSS...

    Hey Simone,
sorry for the late follow up. Your setup sounds really interesting. Is it possible to use iMon remote without iMon Manager?
Where do I get some info on how to set this up? Or can you tell me on the base of my system specs if it will also work for me?

    My System:
    - Case: Thermaltake DH101 + Soundgraph LCD HID OEM (FW: 0x380102)
    - Win Vista 32bit
    - latest MP SVN
    - latest downloadble IRSS (not configured manually)
    - removed iMon Manager

Perfect solution yould be a running LCD display and a working remote solution that works with my harmony one. But lets start with blasting some remote commands first.
Shall I open a dedicated thread for that in IRSS section?
If you need logs, let me know.
    1000 thanks.

Basically you just install soundgraph/imon manager (this installs the drivers). Then you remove it from startup (msconfig). Now you can use minidisplay plugin for display, and IRSS for imon remote. You harmony will still need to emulate imon remote. For IRSS, it's probably best to install disaster's non official IRSS version.

    Thanks kiwijunglist,
got themain things up and running.
One annoing thing: When MediaPortal is off, the display is still active showing the clock. Can I turn it off?
And one problem: Often the remote repeats the signal. Then MediaPortal goes cracy, hopping through the menues.
On pressing Enter it resumes normal.
