    Hi,

i'm getting i little confusing.. is there any possibilities that i can make my display works with mediaportal?
I've tried all possible combination of configuration, nothings happens, the display with the minidisplay plugin enabled, stop to works when mediaportal starts, and works again when the htpc goes to stand by mode or i 've closed mediaportal.

I really don't know wich firmware do i have, but i start to think, according to the links to soundgraph's forum, that is not supported

anyway i'll take a look in the log, and i will post again, hoping to find a solutions

    bye

Mini Display Plugin - Available tags and syntax

    Hi all,

I would like to do some changes on the configuration of my VFD (change the kind of information which is displayed for example).

I did manage to change some things in minidisplay.xml, but it would be helpful to have a list of
    - all available tags
    - exact meaning of all the "commands" (Text Value, Parse Value, ....)
    - exact syntax

I know there is the property browser, but obviously it does not show all available tags (for example, I have no idea what all the numbered texts in the default minidisplay.xml - #112, #736) mean.

I was searching in the forum and in Wiki already, but I did not find anything.

It there is no list, maybe a link to the according file(s) of the source code where the tags and the syntax is defined would help; in this case I would try to create a list out of these.

    Question 2:

Generic serial VFD-Display (Samsung) : Is there a chance to define that the information in only 1 or both lines of the display could be blanked after a certain time and / or activated or deactivated by the remote? For example, it would be nice to have the program information in live tv displayed only for some time or upon request by the remote.

    Thanks!

    Alfred

    AW: Mini Display Plugin

    hi there -
does anybody use a coolermasterVFD ...?

i built in one - and use the normal driver which was delivered with the hardware.
i am not sure which iMON version is behind the coolermaster softare -
(iMON says: manager ver 5.00.0727 (coolermaster) )
but there is something new in it -

always the PC starts - iMON brings a clock on the desktop - on top
tha tmeans if i start an application (i-explorer e.g.) the clock always is on top an visible

i can deactivate the clock - but after a restart of the PC
everything is on top again :-(
i didnot install mediaportal til now (installed the system yesterday)
but if the clock is visible IN MePo too would be really bad ...

    any ideas?

    EDIT says:

i also changed back to the normal iMON 7.20
    (without coolermaster)
now the clock is away ... :)
hope it is not the same again like in my first chasis with a VFD
that when i start MePo the VFD flikers and it looks like the VFD switches between MePo information
and the normal DATE and TIME display ...
will see how good that one works with MePo

runs ok - but something is strange -

when i shut down the PC (my first one with VFD)
it still shows time and date... (althought the PC is off)

when i shut down my new PC here ...
display showa what i wann be showen ...
but NOT time and date anymore (and thats sad)

i liked that old VCR-style with the clock showing me time and date :-(
now the VFD always show: MediaPortal not active ... (sucks a bit)

    EDIT:
seems like it is a MediaPortal thing - couse
what ever i change ... only changes by the disply plugin
are shown after shuting down the system

    @ chemelli

an idea how i can change that the VFD shows time & date when system is off?

AFAIK, it's a hardware feature based on the firmwar everison you have. I have a old one that doesn't have this capability, and worst thing is that is not flashable.

    oh :-( thats bad ...

hmm could it be that by deinstalling some/many files left on a system?
i have looked @ my PC home ...
there i have now the same driver like here on my testsystem in my office -
but the point for choosen the things shown in standby/off is not there ...
@ home it is ... there i can choose whats displayed ...

strange ... soundgraph really sucks ...

    edit:
tried a complete de-install - also killed manual all files from soundgraph and iMON)
but i think i also have the wrong firmware ...

    do u have a "how-to-flash-vfd"?
    present i have FW 0x80
but don't know which hardware version it is ...

    edit II:

it seems like all "old" Soundgraph VFD's are not flashable ...
so look out what brand you buy and
what u want to be displayed @ your VFD

    Re: AW: Mini Display Plugin

Has anyone got this working with the screen on the zalman HD160XT plus? If so, can you share what settings you have in the Type and Port fields on the config please?

    Many Thanks!
