Sorry, I need them collected with out debug tool otherwise you may miss some of them ( like MediaPortal.log ).

    Simone

NOTE: I think your skin, Dark-Essentials-v1.0.0.7, has an issue:

2010-08-11 19:46:19.359375 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: Unable to load control. exception:confused:ystem.NullReferenceException: Der Objektverweis wurde nicht auf eine Objektinstanz festgelegt.

did like u told me - logs attached

    same fault/error with blue3wide-
    by the way -
when i shut down the PC -
    i can here that typical windows-error-sound -
but the shutdown is so fast - can't read a thing

in the windows own error-log (german "ereigniss-anzeige") nothing is posted -
so i hope u'll find the error reason in the logs ..

VFD shows: MediaPortal not activ ...

still looks like times to shoert for the re-start of the VFD-driver (iMON) :(

    thanx

again me --- have that real old VFD worling
(took the original driver v5.0 - and put in the SG_VFD.dll from 7.6)
and now conection to MePo ist there

but after starting MePo the display switch between the menu in which i am - and the date (upper line)

    any idea?

    EDIT:

was happy to early :( - after a restart the display shows again date and time - but no MePo information ...

after looking again in the config - and pressing OK-button - it works again ..
but after restart it is "gone" again ...

    EDIT 2:

by changing settings (not start the VFD.exe) everything works fine -
everything but standby DATE and TIME :D

not it shows for example today in standby:

    APR 17, 2010 FEB
    PM 03:40:35

time is OK :D ... but date looks a bit strange ;)
FEB is the second MONTH in the year as tuesday is the second day of a week ...

by changing PC date to FEB - it displays

    APR 17, 2010 TUE

So the second month is in count the week-day in text-form ...

    ideas? ...
if i say in the config (MediaPortal) VFD = off ... it goes off ...
so i think it is aconfig problem - but where to change the date-format in MePo-Config for the Display?

I have the same case/display. You'll likely want to use the MPLAY 7 or MPLAY Blast drivers. Double check the port your VFD/remote is using in MHC (mine is COM3). I'll have to check what I specifically use when I get home. The remote and VFD work well in mediaportal although I have a few issues that I am still sorting out (issues may or may not be related to the remote). Let me know if you have any luck and if you run into any issues.

MHC gave me nothing but problems so I eventually uninstalled it; I use Manfred's simple "Checkmail" Program to make the remote semi-usable in windows outside of mediaportal (in other words, I can launch mediaportal using the green button and thats it). Unfortunately, I haven't found any programs that will allow me full functionality of the remote outside of mediaportal and MHC. And since MHC was terrible, I just have to live without it.
