I wanted to change the "mediaportal" text to say "Dad's HTPC" or something, but when I change the text and click OK and then go back into the settings, the text has returned to "mediaportal".

Hi Simone,

I just built a new Vista HTPC with an Antec Case / LCD. Firmware version 0x380208 (LCD2), IMON driver 7.61.0522. For some reason, I couldn't get the original 1.0.2 plugin to work with this driver release / firmware (did not try downgrading). The screen just powered off after Minidisplay initialised it. But the latest dll from here fixed the problem and its all working.

Think this was posted earlier. Would be nice if this display could use some more of the mediainfo icons. Only a couple seem to work (disk icon, music / movie). Another observation is that intermittently, after you stop media playing, a random selection of mediainfo icons will light on the display, and don't clear until the next time you play. Looks like there may be some corruption there.

System with the VFD continue to operate normally.

I just wanted to say that I have just tried this new driver after having problems with the remote on the standard plugin.

It seems to work a treat for me.

I am using latest iMon soft 7.61.0522 on XP SP3 with MP 1.0.2.0

The only thing that doesn't work that I have found (not that I am a particularly advance user) is that I can't personalise the display text to change the messages on my VFD screen. I am setting it up for my father as a new HTPC for him, so I wanted to change the "mediaportal" text to say "Dad's HTPC" or something, but when I change the text and click OK and then go back into the settings, the text has returned to "mediaportal". This however is so very unimportant that I really don't care.

Try changing it within the datafile itself.

Look in the user settings folder, there is a minidisplay.xml (or close to that name) which contains the raw code behind the config screen.

If you have trouble locating this, shout up and I'll have a closer look when I get home.

Disaster,

try completly removing iMON from startup.
My setup is:

1. iMON 7.40 installed but not executed
2. MiniDisplay without any option checked about iMON manager
3. IRSS for remote

I know that IRSS is not working for some of you, BUT I need to understand if this is making MiniDisplay working or not. I will be able to give you a IRSS build with iMON support in some days...

OK will try it without IRSS cause IRSS is not working. But in my case it is only the problem that the display does not awake. When i give you the code to start the display - would this be enough / OK?

With this version of Minidisplay I got my combination of Antec Fusion Black iMon Display + Harmony Remote 525 configured as MCE remote working together for the first time.

Display fires up on MP start and remote still works (wasn't possible before).

The only remaining problem is that I'm unable to enter S3 via remote (did I miss something?).

I'm running Frontview for remote handling and Imon version 7.2 (as I'm anxious to do an update because of the problems normally combined with Imon )

EDIT: Tested entering Standby again, it seems that it does work, but only after sending the standby signal via remote a second time... so the first command does nothing but producing HDD access and the second command works (I'm not sure if it always works)

I ticked the following options beside cosmetic settings in the advanced tab:
Ensure is running before driver start
Force restart after driver start
Restart Frontview on exit
Leave Frontview active

I tried both options for: Monitor PowerState Events but this did not seem to change anything

can't confirm this. I am running imon V 7.61 with frontview enabled (otherwise MCE remote does not work).
With minidisplay enabled (and settings to keep imon running) MCE remote does still work but the display is still controlled by frontview...with frontviews messages.
Sometimes (e.g. when going back to main menu) a short MP message is displayed for 1-2 secs, but then frontview takes over again.

How can I get my Harmony 555 working with MiniDisplay and Mediaportal.

Actually MiniDisplay is working but I can't use the Harmony because Imon cant detect it (but starting the PC is possible with the harmony!?).

Do I need additional tools such as grider or eventghost?

My Harmony One works out of the box. Doesn's matter if iMonManager is set to iMon Remote or MCE remote.
I only have to adopt the mappings.
In general you have get the original remote working first. After that import the remote codes or learn your 555 from the original remote.
