Re: [MOD] Different skin layout for WorldWeather plugin (New update 01/01/2012)

...with attached files both buttons group (vertical buttons for images views and horizontal buttons for all views) have a circular sequence.
This means that for horizontal buttons pressing left key on first button on the left the focus go on the last button on the right, and pressing right key on last button on the right the focus go on the fisrt button on the left; for vertical buttons pressing up key on upper button the focus go on the lower one and pressing down key on lower button the focus go on the upper one.
In Images view you can switch from vertical buttons to horizontal buttons pressing right or left keys, and from each of horizontal buttons to vertical buttons pressing up key.

Cheers

...further enhancement: with attached xml's shift for not enabled image buttons works properly (screenshots 1 below as was before; screenshot 2 as is now).

Is it correct, that the inital shown sattelite image is not (no longer?) part of the thumbnail preview on the left? How do you get there if you once pressed the UP button?

Cheers.

Yes, I have removed satellite image from thumbnail previews. This because satellite image is that one displayed by default when you enter in image view and when focus is on bottom buttons, so in my opinion it is an unuseful redundancy to show that image also in thumbnail preview panel and my choice was to shows only additional images in thumbnails; when you want to display that additional images you have to press up key and the focus go to thumbnails panel and you can choice what image to view; when you want to return to default condition you have to press left or right button and focus switch back to bottom buttons and satellite image is displayed.
In my opinion this way is the better possible for a comfortable navigation using all viewable images of actual WorldWeather plugin maintaining a sufficiently legible thumbnail preview panel.

Cheers

Marduk65

Thanks for the explanation.

I respect your opinion regarding navigation although I have a different opinion here.

For me it was rather confusing when I once entered UP I was cought in a "loop" and neither UP nor DOWN let me escape and return to the entry point. It took quite a while to find out that I had to press LEFT to get there. IMHO that is the downside of making it possible to loop through the images by endless pressing UP and DOWN. It was also confusing that I was no longer able to see the initial image by looping through the images with UP and DOWN once I entered UP.

Thanks again for maintaining this skin mod.

Cheers.

Works perfectly now. Great work! Thank you very much. Molte grazie! ;-)
:D

Now that the functions are reliable let's got to the content! :) Does anyone have good URLs for good weather images? The built-in images of the german TV channel ZDF are partial outdated.

Re: [MOD] Different skin layout for WorldWeather plugin

I simply can not adjust a weather for Croatia. Is it though possible to have a weather for Croatia?

...I have tryied for Zagreb and it seems all is ok (see screenshots below). For your city (or someone near to your city) you have to set proper longitude and latitude values. For this the best help is the power of... google :D

Ciao Marduk65,

is it possible to make the field for the moon phase horizontally scrollable, too? Because in some languages the terms simply don't fit in the fields length. For example the english "waxing gibbous moon" corresponds to the german "zunehmender Dreiviertelmond" and the length of the term breaks the frame's margin.
Please have a look at my attached screentshot.
