Hi.
MP2 lists all Media items (excerpt Music and Pictures) in Videos up to now as Movies or Series are only a subtype of Video Item. I also don't like this but that's the status quo. It lists Series item also in Series, if you choose the "series" sub-type while adding the share. And it list Movie Items also in Movies if you choose the "movies" sub-type while adding a share. For me this is working as expected. Maybe because I only have MKV with proper Metatags so all files are identified 100% correct.
But, if you don't choose Movies or Series it tries to guess if the video is a movie or a series episode and adds those to Movies or Series also. Best seen in "TV Recordings"... That's something I really don't like as I know what's on this share so if I decide it's not a movie nor a series MP2 should not add the items in this share to movies or series...
I've suggested earlier already to separate Movies, Series, MusicVideos, and maybe later Documentary, Anime,... as completely independent Media Items. Music Videos need extra MIA "Interpret", "Album", "Track" which isn't needed on any other Video Item. Series are needing "Season" and "Episode" Media Item Aspect, something also not needed on any other Video Item,... So the "Videos" Media Type should be used only for stuff with no (online-) Metadata available like Holiday or Family Videos, HowTo Videos for different kind of work, videos from sports events,...
How the handling of different Video types is 100% perfect you can see on XBMC. All build in you'll ever need. You add a share and choose which Scrapper to use. With this scrapper the type of Video Item is chosen also (e.G. TheTVDB => Series, IMDB => Movies,...),... If you need another type of Video Item (e.G. Music Video) add a share, chose "Last FM" Scrapper and instantly you have a new Entry in Home Menu called "Music Videos"...
And the scrappers are scripts so they can be written by anyone with a little scripting skills.
