wow this will be awesome so my family members can view my movies and already know/recommend what to watch on movie nights...

now on the interface/gui is there a way you can set it up like Moving Picture 1.0 with the categories etc.. exactly the same interface as the plugin?

so you could use it just as an online list of your movies?


so even non-mediaportal friends could use it to select a movie for the night?

You might be more interested for the time being in using the plugin that will allow you to export your list to a HTML document then. You can simply share this document with friends then and not even require a website. If you do have access to a website setup from your ISP for example, then on Apache you can use .htaccess easy to secure it so viewing is only possible by those who know the username/password (read Apache manual on htpasswd).

I'm sure eventually some 'friends only' view option will be added to MovingPictures Social, but with the above you don't have to wait.

Yes you can mark your profile as private. If you do this, you will be given a unique url that you can share with your friends to show them your list. The URL can be changed at any time.

Maybe i am alone with that, but i really can't see a use case for another social platform...

Which movies i have and i like is MY private thing. In terms of data security and privacy i won't populate any data. But maybe someone can explain me a real advantage...
