MP Compressor? (1 Viewer)

I'm not sure if I asked this correctly so I thought I'd take another crack at it.
What I'm looking for is something to normalize or compress the audio output from Media Portal or possibly the entire PC since my HTPC only runs Media Portal. I did some searching when I asked originally but I couldn't find a solution. The one program I know does this on the fly is called Ventrilo which has compressor settings in its advanced audio settings to help with the different input levels of multiple users. I used to have a TV that had what it called 'Night Mode' that lowered the louder noises but I don't think it raised the lower ones.

I know that in ffdshow, the volume can be configured to normalize the output.

This looks like the best solution and maybe only solution. I had hoped to have similar settings to play with that Ventrilo has but either way it appears to be working. I'm watching Die Hard with a Vengeance and I haven't had to adjust the volume yet. Thanks a ton.

It seems the file "DialogMenu.xml" in the theme folder does not have the onX settings in the file by default (after MP 1.36) and when you install a later version of MP.
I modified the MP 1.38 file with the onX settings from MP 1.36. Also I have found the "DialogMenu.xml" from MP 1.36 will work with MP...

@CyberSimian Sorry, I missed your last post. I ended up doing a clean install on the client and all is well now. It still doesn't let me go back in time when I change channels but it does continue operating from that point on. I'm ok with that. Thanks for your help!

When I first start watching a TV program the timeshift functions works perfectly. I can shift back and forth in time and it works...

it is probably not due to the Windows update. I ran a new transmitter scan and got the same result. MP no longer starts. Then I got the fuse back and everything works again. A simple reinstall of MP does not bring a solution. Maybe I should reinstall MP from scratch. However, I need a lot of time for this...
