Do you use a HDMI cec device? I also have this issue, but it is probably due to the pulse eight cec adapter and cec-remote plugin.
Without this, mediaportal 1.2.3 awakes fine.

For some reason I didn't get a notification that I had a reply on the thread, sorry for the late follow up.

Does that say what plugin is the culprit? I guess I will try disabling some until I find it.

After many hours of troubleshooting I've given up and accepted that it's just "one of these things" when using madVR for watching live TV. I've now ticked the box to "Use EVR for LiveTV", with a default display refresh rate of 50Hz. In combination with tweaking some of the Nvidia 3D settings for the MP executable only, I now have a...

Also when I wake up the HTPC MP closes or crashes (not sure which) as per the example in...

I did a check of MP 1.36 x64 on Win11 and I can confirm, that the TV server correctly detects running MediaPortal.exe process.

On the assumption you are using an OTA/Cable or Sat tuner then no internet connection is required for live TV recordings. BUT only if you already have Media Portal fully installed and functional. For all practical purposes you will need an internet connection to get Media Portal properly installed on a PC! Yes.
