MP doesnt play vob files (1 Viewer)

Did you get an answer to this ? i have several related issues !

1) Ripping the main movie with ifo file (say 5 vob files) won't play, MP says can not play ifo file
2) VOB files not recognized without ifo file
3) Only way to make it work is to concatenate all vob's to 1 large 5GB file and rename to mpg. Then any player thinks the movie is 1 minute long so I have to demux and mux it.

After all this i get sections of the movie which stutter for 1s (not where the vob's were joined) and the skip forward on MP is 1. incorrect (30s is not necessarily 30s) and after about 1 hour it freezes the picture.

i went with MP as it seems to have a good progression path with V2 in the middle of being written, but I would like to get this working without stutter, and ideally as vob's, without joining them, and without having to demux and mux the files !

vob ext. is added to the config tool and I have tried checking and unchecking the option to group files in same folder. I also have the setting checked for a folder per movie, which is a pain as it means I can not then easily split out the kids stuff from adult movies !

Also, like another post I found, vob files alone are not recognised in the config program, it does not pick up the movie in the directory to add to the movie list.

Any assistance welcome.

Many thanks,

Jason.
PS. Spent 2 months trying to resolve all this !

I don't think so, because MP has no way of knowing at which timestamp the external player stopped playback. Best way to achieve this would be to use an auto-resume feature in your external player itself. (MPC-HC can do that, I don't know about VLC)

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...

I've now ticked the box to "Use EVR for LiveTV", with a default display refresh rate of 50Hz. In combination with tweaking some of the Nvidia 3D settings for the MP executable only, I now have a...
