I guess if you turn off all the "flash" then it may not need as much memory.

I haven't used Vista, but from everything I've read (including from MS itself) it would seem that the only outcome of using Vista with MP as a dedicated HTPC is that you need a serious upgrade to your system and your hibernate may be a bit faster.

Can you confirm that Vista uses less resources? any statistics?

Hemulen: Have you actually tried Vista? Or is the extra need for ressources just something you heard on an internet forum?

My experience tells me that Vista runs better than XP on my machines..

Congratulations! My experience after running Vista RTM on 5 laptops (3 Dell and 2 HP) and various desktops is that 1GB of RAM is minimum while XP runs quite OK with only 512MB of RAM. CPU scaling on laptops and desktops doesn't work yet, it always full speed.

MP has adjustable audio delay. I don't know whether this works for all video formats, but it certainly works for TS files, and may work for MP4 files. There is a slider that allows you to adjust the audio delay while playing a video. Press the INFO button on the remote control to display the OSD, select the "Audio" icon, and then...

I've setup my HDHomeRun in MP1 as (4) IPTV cards rather than Atsc. I can see the (4) Atsc cards, but just have them disabled. I did it this way so I didn't have to edit the channel names every time tested a new TV-server install. Anyway, it works. I don't know if this would get you past the BDA driver issue. I'll provide more...
