This is the logs when I scan 1 channel on the fritz using the standard MePo iptv filter (not the special merged iptv & url source spitter).
It fails. Why? not MPEG2 encapsulated?
Using MePo 1.12 final

That's weird. ffmpeg doesnt seem to have a problem with it.
All I do to get this stream working in MePo is a ffmpeg "input" -vcodec copy -acodec copy -f mpegts

Could it be that MePo is expecting more than just an URL? What I mean is that since this is a network tuner, I think that MePo should have enough info with just a stream url. However, from my other network tuner (Anysee N7) I've learned that there may be more to it. There's stuff like Transport Id in the streams that can contain EPG data... My question is: could it be that even though scanning does not work, it's possible to get this stream working in MediaPortal by adding it manually and setting the right id's?
The Fritz is known to be not completely compliant to the SAT>IP standard.

This is what ffmpeg finds in one example stream from the Fritz Dvb-C network tuner:
There are multiple channels in this Transport stream. How do the program numbers translate to MePo?
I like learning about this kind of stuff and I hope to be more of a contributor to MediaPortal in the future.

    Code:

    @Nervesagent
I'm sorry, it's been almost 3 months since your last post in this thread. Since that time I've responded to many other threads, and so unfortunately I've forgotten pretty much everything we talked about, what you're using, why you're using it etc. etc. etc.

Before we go any further, can you please give a short summary of what you have, what you're trying to achieve, what is working, and what is not working. This will help me to help you.

All that I remember is that you have (or had) 2 networked tuners - an Anysee N7 and a Fritz! repeater. AFAIK both of those are compatible with SAT>IP/KABEL>IP. Therefore they should "just work" with TVE 3.5. However, you wanted to use TVE 3, which has IPTV support but does not have SAT>IP support. I don't remember or understand why you're also using the VODServer, what modifications you made to it, and why. I also don't remember if you're using the standard or new/merged IPTV filter...

Yeah I kind of fiddle around alot.

Currently I'm on MePo 1.12 with TVE 3
Anysee N7 works perfectly (especially now I got the dvbepg working for it)
Fritz works fine with VoDserver. It used to have a problem with the ffmpeg method so I modded VodServer to use VLC as a recoder. Now I've updated the FritzIos 6.23 firmware to 6.30 ffmpeg no longer has that problem, thus the regular VodServer works as well.
So far I'm pretty happy with my setup now, which means I'm trying to tweak the little annoyances out of it.

I'd love to get the (dvb)epg working for the Fritz too, but that means I'd have to be able to scan the channels like the N7 I think (without VodServer).

I've tried to get TVE3.5 to work, but until now I have not been succesful in doing so.
I've had problems with the 10yr AE crashing and now with the Summer update as well..as I recall I could not scan any channels in the tvsetup, but I used the DVBIP tuner since I didn't know any better.. , and for Summer update I heard IPTV was broken. I didn't know I may have been able to scan differently?
This week I've tried to get a nightly running but I'm only getting the error message that tv-service is not running when I try running setuptv.exe from D:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server\Plugins\SlimTv.Service\SetupTv
I can see tv-server service for TVE3 is running and MediaPortal 2 Server service is running (for TVE3.5?)
I'm willing to give MePo2 with TVE3.5 a shot, but I just can't get the tv-section running... I'll start another thread about that if you want?
The reason I say that the Fritz is not 100% KABEL>IP compatible is because of similar problems user Powermarcel had on the Dutch Tweakers.net forum. He seems to know what he's talking about. One of the reasons for not being compatible is that the command pids=all does not result in scanning all channels... (that's my n00b knowledge got from reading page after page..).

Ofcourse I've tried stopping and disabling the tvserver service before running the setuptv.exe in D:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server\Plugins\SlimTv.Service\SetupTv.

I think I should start another thread about this and start from scratch, by uninstalling and deleting all MP2 folders in program files and programdata and post some logs right? Just to keep this thread from becoming contaminated..
    edit: here's the MePo2 testing thread: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/mepo2-nightly-tve3-5-network-tuner-test.131709/

I've seen your thread. Unfortunately I'm not able to assist with MP2 Server setup and configuration.

Decided to stick with MP1.12 for now.
Is there any news on a TV-server filter that might work to get the streams from my Fritz DVB-C network tuner to work in MePo without having to use VodServer (-vcodec copy -acodec copy -f mpegts)?[DOUBLEPOST=1444992260][/DOUBLEPOST]Here's the latest log while trying to preview a channel. I just edited an existing entry in the tv-server configuration.[DOUBLEPOST=1444992931][/DOUBLEPOST]Could it be trying to tune to the wrong subchannel? Are these the same as FFMPEG stream# ?
    Here's how ffmpeg treats them.

    edit:

Would changing DirectShow filter / settings have any effect?
There used to be a vlc source filter / splitter but that doesn't work anymore.
