I think, the best will be to fork ampdroid directly for remote only and maybe tv. Need "only" to correct issue, and enhance the app. But this is off topic...
Ps2 : if someone has already try kore app for kodi, i have this for my rpi, awesome... All plugin gui are available on the remote.
