If this was possible, then you could just point to the "restart.vbs" in the MediaPortal directory. This make MediaPortal restart.
And yes, this feature would have been very nice to have! :)
Actually, maybe its possible to have MediaPortal to be closed when starting a game and restart when game is ended?
Many for sure are using the setting "MediaPortal always on top" but this setting is not functional when starting a game as MediaPortal then takes focus and being on top again. Also its nice

By the way htpcfreak: You said you have made shortcuts for Ultrastar Deluxe? Did this work without any problems for you? Or did you have to put some arguments to make it work? Because it wont work for me, when trying to start it through Multishortcut I got an error message! But when starting it from windows desktop there is no problem... Very weird!

Thanks a lot! Im very glad not have to use bat files anymore! :D

    Confused please help

I am trying to get this to work, I have the multishortcut config window open and under Exfile I have entered "H:\Program Files\AlbumPlayer\AlbumPlayer.exe" I get the responce "ExeFile doesn't exsist. Any sugestions? I know this is limited info but I am very new to this and am not sure what else to include. the path was coppied straight from the properties menu.

    Hope this makes sense, :D

Fixed it, set up a shortcut in the albumplayer folder and set the path to that. it opens up albumplayer but exits to windows while doing so.
Is there a way to go back and forth between album player and media portal without the desktop screen showing? I have it set to hide mediaportal when starting album player.

Hmm... I have an older version where "Directory" doesnt exist, only exefile path. Maybe its working with a newer version, i will try this. :)
What's the different between Directory path and exe path?

EDIT : I uploaded MultiShortcut Version 1.2 on MP WebSite.
It will be available if it is granted.
Ability to launch up to 3 programs in the same shortcut then, you should not need to use a .bat file anymore. :D
The documentation is also updated, please, read it before. :D

I would prefer you delete your old MultiShortcut.xml file, if possible (locations explained in the doc).
    Bye.

Can I make a request to have an option to tell mediaportal not to start or pause it's standby timer until returning to MP? My problem is, when I launch an external player mp will go into standby. I don't no if there is a flag that can be set to let mp know something is going on.

    thanks.

p.s. I can't use tv3 because of my tv card, or I would use the powerscheduler server plugin for monitoring the player.

The following worked untill with MP1rc1 and 2 but stopped working with MP1.0 :

I'm using this plugin to start hdmion.exe. This is a litte utility to reset edid info when hdmi connection is lost.
In the previous version of mp1rc2 the program got launched en was finished. But since version MP 1.0 the program keeps running untill MP is closed. Is it possible that the program executes and after that the DOS box gets closed imediately?

    I'm on Vista.

Greetings all. I'm also a newbie to Media Portal. I've followed all the instructions as outlined - multiple times. Originally, I had the FireFox plugin working properly from the Home Screen. However, now I cannot get this or any others to work. I am making a copy of the MultiShortcut00.dll and renaming accordingly. I definitely am running the dllfix.exe before launching the MP Config app. What I ultimately wind up with is an icon on the Home Screen that displays the proper name that I chose in the Plugin Configuration dialog; however, I do not get the icon I specified and when selecting that menu option, the screen shrinks away, blinks quickly, and comes right back as if nothing happened.

I have searched for and cannot find a file named anything like "multishortcut.xml" anywhere within the MP installation. Where would this file normally be located? I would also like to know where the error log is located.

I'm currently using the latest release of ver 1.0. This is a new installation on a relatively clean machine running XP-SP3.

    Thanks for any advice.
