Hey loving the plugin and done a new Blue3Wide skin if you wanna look...

Things have been going well... But there is one little thing at play.. I don't even know if it is related to your plugin or just Mediaportal being weird, cuuld I possibly steal some of your time to have a look at these logs.... Thanks

Hi,

Got this plugin all up and working - thanks!!

A couple of things:

1. How do you get just a simple list of the songs?

2. What is the best way to setup a playlist? It seems to use the same process as My Videos which I find really confusing. Would be good to have a step by step process on this

3. Looks like the same philosophy is used here to setup a playlist as My Videos. I have recorded hours of music videos straight from "C4" over here in kiwiland which is broadcast in 1080i. I then used Video Editor to "curve up" the recording into music videos and named them for this plug - they are in "ts" format. The issue I'm getting is that on some videos the playlist gets stuck on the last frame and will not advance to the next video. Is there a way around this?

4. Is there a place I can go to download music videos in good quality? I'm not interested in streaming them.

Any help appreciated.

Regards

Graham

I love your plugin but I can't seem to get all the artist images to download. About 1/3 of them either download nothing or an empty jpg (0 bytes). I believe the files are all named correctly because I get all the artist info and tags, just not the image. My files are all in one folder named artist - title.ext. So I am not using any mask. I'm using mvids 0.2 in MP 1.0 on Vista Ultimate SP1.

The artists do exist on Lastfm. I can't even get an image for Jennifer Lopez for god's sake :)

If I save an image from Lastfm to the thumbs\mvids\artists folder then it works perfectly. Just not the lookup (even using refresh thumbnails or update in Manage Database). I'm sure I've done something silly but I can't figure it out! Hope you can help!

I finally got to installing this on my new MediaPortal 1 setup....
I'm getting that same error as before though....'failed to start because pthreadGC2.dll was not found'

This happens for each file it indexes...(it seems)... It takes quite a while to get through all the 'errors' and 'close program' dialogs.

I got the same message. To fix it, I just downloaded the file and put it in the same folder as the exe that scans the files for info (can't remember it's name sorry). Once I did that, the error stopped appearing.

I am getting this error... where do you download pthreadGC2.dll from ?

Thanks... I will give it a go.

You would think that if the file is required and doesnt come with MP, that it would be included with the plugin install ?

    Hi All,

Since loading this program and copying all the files in the download to the Media Portal directory, I have had a lot of disk activity on my machine - running Vista 32 bit. Have traced this down to "svchost" process which I understand has something to do with handling "dll" files. I notice the download had a few of these.

The high disk activity is causing MP Client to stutter and freeze, so it's pretty intense.

    Any ideas??

To help isolate the offending dll type

    TASKLIST /SVC /FI "IMAGENAME EQ SVCHOST.EXE"

into a command prompt to see what dlls are running off each.

In theory the mvids.dll isnt invoked by svchost as it runs off the main mp codebase, that is the dll is run by MediaPortal, so it wouldnt increase usage of svchost, but something obviously is.

Anyway, as far as matching the particular instance of svchost which is using the resources in task manager with the pid of the process in cmd tasklist....

Option 2, tutorial here How to determine what services are running under a SVCHOST.EXE process to use Sysinternals process explorer to find out for you.

End of the day, its prob not mvids

    Hi Metalla_NZ,

Thanks for the detailed reply - much appreciated.

I looked in Google about "Vista disk thrashing" and the first thing mentioned was to do a "Disk Cleanup". When it did it's search, it found 6GB of "Temp Files" which I promptly deleted and tonight I'm happy to say the machine is behaving itself :) This was on my separate operating systemJust been watching 3 hours of fishing shows ....... oh yeah!!! ..... has got me rev'd up for my 2 day fishing trip.

...... hopefully the machine behaves itself for my wife while I'm away :D

    Thanks again for the reply.

    Regards
