AW: MP crash FIXED

Hi Guzzi,

Looks good!
I startet MP, entered MyFilms and then pressed the save Button in AMC--> Result OK
My other MP installation that runs without fixes crashed.

I will play a little with different actions and if there should be other situations where the issue returns, I will let you know.
From the logs the above described scenario seems to be handled clean now. I marked the position in the log (attached) where I pressed the save button. If I watch the MP window (while saving) then I see just about one second activity (rotating circle),
I suggest that this issue also appeared if MP itself updates the XML while another MP instance (looking to the same XML)is running somewhere else. I did not test that, because I use only AMC for maintaining the database and in earlier releases of MyFilms I found that the description field (for all entries that exceeded a specific size) was truncated, if I e.g. updated the rating within MP.

Meanwhile I tested my other MP installation and it is OK also.
Question: for this installation I just replaced the myfilms.dll - nothing else - is this OK ?

Thanks again for a great plugin.

There appears that the local trailer scanner is missing some trailers. There two scenarios that I have noticed

• Tiltles containing ":" such as 'Tron: Legacy', 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' and 'Battle: Los Angeles'
• The Global update local trailers for all films does not find the trailers. From the movie detail screen options>Trailers>Scan Local trailer does work

I bet its my own stupidity, but, My Films only sees one movie. I have a networked drive my Y drive and there is a movies folder in that folder there is a Movie folder for each movie named the movies name. I have several and it only sees one. Why is that?

I changed detection method, so it should catch those now - will be in next release.

• The Global update local trailers for all films does not find the trailers. From the movie detail screen options>Trailers>Scan Local trailer does work

If I remember correct, this is due to global search does not include the extended search directories in the search - the search for single movie does. This is due to runtime with very big catalogs - not yet sure, but esiest would probably be to add another question if the extended dirs should be searched, so user can decide at runtime?

Maybe it's a long shot, but I've had the same issue with Moving Pictures.
Turned out that Virtual CloneDrive was not configured properly in MP Configuration.
I don't know if My Films Mounts the images like Moving Pictures...

Just a little note on the Moving Pictures vs. My Films discussion:
I'm not running My Films yet, so maybe this is just for my own clearification...
If you're running a multi seated setup, My Films has a least one BIG advantage: The centralized setup.
I'm running a WHS 2011, 4 HTPC and 2 laptops at home and Moving Pictures (wich is at GREAT plugin) i quite difficult to support, because of all the local databases, local scanning of folders and so forth.
Using MyMovies as a catalog, I get localized synopsis, localized data AND is pretty straight forward to setup and use.
It uses a SQL db on my Home Server and My Films will then serve all my clients with the data needed.
So a single change is automaticly distributed to all the clients.

I just LOVE centralized storage!

No I did not install the latest Streamed MP yet (10 sep)

The crashing problem unfortunately came back. So you can imagine my surprise and frustration. Not being able to understand the pattern i went into a research of action combinations and discovered the following:

1) If i load mediaportal and go to Tract/Recommended/ Recommended Movies and select a movie that is already in the library then mediaportal crashes (and burns)

2) If i first go to Mediaportal config/Trakt config and visit the excluded movie list (without doing any changes whatsoever), close the config and then load Mediaportal, then mediaportal does not crash when selecting recommended trakt movie that already exists in the library but takes me to the movie page instead (as it should do)

Wow...try to figure that one out..lol..anyhow i am happy since i now know a way to make the problem go away. Just have to go to config before i load mediaportal and we are fine.

I really get out of ideas ... now even added exclusions for films and folders here to get my test setup more similar to yours - but I can't reproduce any crash here.

Just started trying out MyFilms to use alongside MovingPictures as a way of playing a small collection of Music Concert DVD's and rips. MovingPictures is handling my 600 +movie collection and I cant see an easy way of importing them into MyFilms (but thats another story!)

I've installed it MyFilms OK and can see everything on screen but ISO files dont play at all. MP just hangs. MovingPictures plays both iso and blu-ray iso's fine and calls up Arcsoft TMT to handle the buuray discs, but MyFilms cant seem to do that. Neither ordinary iso nor blu-ray iso will launch. Daemon tools and MP are both set up correctly.
I dont use MYVIDEOS so dont know if that works or not.

Any help please?
