Let's standardize this in MP and add this to My Music.

Doing the skip steps I wanted to include them in Music, too but discussing with the other devs we realized that there would be many changes and decisions to made..

e.g. How would you decide when to browse and when to skip?

browse.... arrow keys/remote
next/previous track with corresponding buttons on remote (<<)/(>>)
rewind/fastforward also with corresponding buttons on remote (|<<) /(>>|)

Something like that ;)

I'm using the LCD plugin by JoeDalton and it depends on the use of Tags, such as #Play.Current.Artist etc.

These tags aren't used when switching MP to the "Play Now" screen. Is it possible to add this to the code?

I tried by altering the mymusicPlayingNow.xml and add those tags into the labels but doesnt seem to work like that.

now playing

more than likely this is the wrong thread for this. But in the music section how to i assign one of my coloured buttons on the haupage remote , to quickly jump to the "now playing" screen.

I believe the only current assignment is to move to full screen visualization (far left button).

Does the database in any way write info back into the id3 tags of mp3 files?

I have "fixxed" erroneous tags only to se my changes reverted, and I want to know if I can blame the database scan i MP or have to look elsewhere?

regards

I can confirm this. I have same problems after I've scanned my database, some ID3 tags been changed right after.

Best regards,

Sorry, guys but you'll need to do a little more troubleshooting as MP doesn't modify any of the music tags. Which music player are you using; WMP, WinAmp, FooBar, etc? And what tags are bing changed.

Good. Then I`ll blame the ID3 retagging program =)

Just a shame that every mp3 file cant keep the unique CD ID so that a precise CDDB search would be conclusive.

The world really needs a blind ID3 tagger (I have tried them all) that perfectly combine info from filename, foldername, ID3-tag, files in the same folder etc. I think frauhofer was working on a light-weight audio signature recognition engine that could match the audio in a mp3 file to a web server for automatic bulletproof ID. Sounds good to me =)
