MyDreambox and VLC (1 Viewer)

Hello, I get this plugin to work with my dreambox. I can stream the channels, but NOT my recordings on the dreambox harddisk?
I have latest PP image, and latest VLC on PC.
Is it possible to view recorded tv from dreambox harddisk?
Is it possible to switch channels from EPG on mediaportal, and make recordings (timers) from mediaportal EPG to dreambox harddisk?

I cant get this to work. If this is possible I thing this plugin is PERFECT!! (Thanks for the great work )

Morph: Recordings, sure, but- Do they have non english characters in them? The WebIf needs Unicode, the plugin recieves the recording name in your language. Look at the /hdd/movie directory via ftp://dreambox/hdd/movie. Look for "unreadable" characters. Another thing to look at is the WebIf version.

EPG switching and recording are not implemented. Sorry...

What image is PP?

Ok, I have looked at the recordings. Some of them have non english characters. I also have some with only english characters, and they dont play, the screen in mediaportal only gets black.
I thougt maybe that it was buffering, but I waited 5 min. and still no picture?

"Webface#1" is this the webif?

PP image or "Peter Pan image" is a great image for Nordic users. (Take a look at Digsat.net)

Morph: It should buffer about 5 - 6 seconds. If it remains black, it isn't getting a connect. Try the following: look at the properties of a recording copy the file name. Open a command window (Start/Run/cmd.exe/OK). CD to your VLC Directory. Type vlc.exe --control logger --logmode text --logfile C:\DreamboxTest.txt. Open a network stream (Ctrl + N), check Http/... In the URL box add HTTP://DreamBox_IP:31342/hdd/movie/recording_name. Play the Network Stream. Does this work? Does the URL in the Control Window and in the text file look like you would expect?

Open a Telnet session to your dreambox use netstat -an to see if the following line exists:
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:31342 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
This shows that the box is listening to the network port (31342).

Webface#1? The Enigma Web Interface has the title "Enigma Web Interface - Dreambox". It should be accessable via the URL HTTP://Dreambox_ip

I tried this and I found out that it was the names, like you said in the first place.. But it was only english characters. The names of my recordings was very long with many - and (). That was the thing. Renamed, made some new recording and now it Plays!!

Morph: That's good news. Can you tell me what characters are shown, and which ones you should expect. Maybe I can fix the problem for your language.

Ok, that would be perfect!

The Norwegian characters:

Æ, Ø, Å (Capital)
æ, ø, å

If you need to replace them with something:
Æ=AE
Ø=OE
Å=AA

æ=ae
ø=oe
å=aa

Is this what you meant?

in the log file following lines repeated several times:

main error: recv failed (10054)


How can I fix it to stream movies to MP.

Morph: That's almost what I meant. Look at the File names via FTP. Then write the characters that show up under FTP:
Æ=
Ø=
Å=
æ=
ø=
å=

Then when you click a recording in MyDreambox, you are shown the title under the preview box (bottom left) Instead of Æ for example, you will see %c3%xx. I need these charachters as well.

bahoiz: You recieve the stream and can watch T.V., the list of recordings, comes up correctly, but when you click one of the recordings, the screen remains black?

What language is your PC / Dreambox? This problem comes up, when the requested URL (Full path/name_of_Film doesn't exist, and that is only possible, when the WebIf sends data that's not english, which gets converted acording to your language settings, then when you click on this recording, the URL is sent to the VLC playlist, but with the wrong name.
