Once the source is posted, I will be able to add a yahoo trailers portion to it. There is no worries on my part. You can just use my interpretation of the plugin until then if you wish. That is what I am doing.

While I wait for the source I am currently trying to figure out how to cache the List items in MyVideos so that the plugin does not have to recreate them all of the time. When you have a lot of movies this process gets old fast.

fyi: I just solved some playback mysteries.. next update can use VLC if prefered.

Does this mean I should stop trying to solve the playback issues associated with codecs?

I have spent a long time testing things and many many codecs on my other pc but am struggling to get everyhting to work. Closest so far is using the Vista Codec Pack and modifying a few settings but I haven't implemented this on my main HTPC.

Thanks armandp, I think in the perfect world VLC would not be the preferred option, but if it means that many more users can enjoy this plugin then its a small price to pay.

Didn't mean to rant earlier, just this plugin would be superb if it worked, and the fact it doesn't on all machines just makes it more frustrating. Ever heard of 'being a victim of your own success'!

Still if you could accomidate a VLC version which we can all use, then I'm sure most of us would dedicate some time testing other versions until you can develop an internal player that doesn't rely on the machine setup.

Saying that, let's see what your latest version does. Think we've just hit the hour!

    My Trailers 2.0.0.134 (preview)

Ok so here's the preview version of My Trailers 2.0.0 (previously Movie Trailers 0.7).

Note that this version is purely released to test the VLC player fallback. It includes additional features but none of them are fully tested and probably contain bugs. Still i wanted to "push" this out for playback testing. If you couldn't play the trailers before but have the VLC plugin installed it should work now. The first call seems to bypass external players completely, so if you have VLC enabled but it was already working for you through the ds merits it won't use VLC. An option to force external playback will be added later.

Additional features: "high" res. covers , sorting and quality selection.
Skins: BlueTwoWide, Aeon Skin (both still pretty much under construction and derived from the My Video skin, no real details page yet)
Data: still Apple Trailers only, no Yahoo Trailers. Genres and Studio's still display the WHOLE featured list without distinction.

    Known Bugs:

    - The sorting other than title doesn't make sense yet ;)
    - Trailers covers do not always show up. (known cause)

If you want to use the old My Trailers be sure to rename the skin and plugin (add ".backup" or something to the version you do not want to use) before you copy the archive over so you can easily switch between old and new version.

Please report back issues regarding playback! :)
