Ziphnor, looks like the PES decoder isn't liking the stream changes. I'll update the PES decoding code from the new TsWriter tomorrow, too tired already...

    subtitles, TVE3 SVN and Vista

    Hi

I also appreciate the work with subtitles. Subtitle support is really needed here in DK where the subtitles are sent in another channel than the TV streaming channel. Thank you for that. But:

I cannot install TVE3 SVN on Vista and therefore not benefit from your solution. :(

Another question: Do you plan subtitle support in the "stand-alone" mediaportal (No TVE3 on the computer).

Again: God work. I guess you already know but Microsoft media center does not support subtitles from DVB-T so media portal can now ofter a soluttion not available in microsoft solution.

    BR

I want teletext subtitles for all channels except the SVT channels(who broadcasts in my native language), everything on SVT that isn't in swedish have old school burnt in subtitles so the filter is pretty much useless here.

What exactly do you mean useless? Do you get burned-in subtitles + teletext subs when this happens?

My STBs(have a few... Nokia, Samsung etc) seem to be very intelligent. For Canal+ it automatically enables the subtitles but not for SVT, just they way I want it.

Is it possible to implement this behaviour? Do you know how the STB handles this?

What kind of subtitles are used on Canal+, teletext or dvb image subs?

All channels I have use teletext subtitles.

What happens is that during SVT news they "live text" the news, it's really annoying. One word at a time appears.

I know I can just turn off the subtitles manually but since a STB can handle it automatically without any config it shouldn't be too hard.

(Or maybe the STB comes pre configured?)

I just need to understand one thing: Do you ever get 'burned in' subtitle overlayed with teletext subtitles?

It seemed so from your previous post, but now i get the impression that you only get teletext subtitles on SVT during live news in which case its 'live texted'?

The DVB SI teletext descriptor describes two types of subtitle pages, one is "for hearing impaired people" the other is normal subtitles. However, as its implemented now the hard of hearing pages should never be rendered automatically simply because i dont record the service info for those pages.

Can you supply me with a .ts recording covering a few minutes of this live news? Then i can see what exact is in the DVB Service Information and see if its possible to distinguish these subtitles based on this info.

I think the subtitles on SVT1&2 are aimed at the hearing impaired. When programs are in a another language during for instance films they do burnt in subtitles.

I'll make a recording tonight and upload it.
