Ok. So which svn version is the most stable one?

I don't want to use tve3, went that road before and it doesn't suit me at all.

But i feel that combination doesn't work well at all for me.
I need to restart mediaportal once or it doesn't find the stream.
lots of problems so it doesn't seem right for me. yup, I know it's svn

Well, if you want to use Mediaportal portal with subtitles you will have to make it work for you :) Just to be absolutely clear: Even if you download the latest Mediaportal (client) SVN then you wont get dvb subtitles (bitmap or teletext) unless you also install TVE3.

If you have problems with the TV server itself i would suggest looking for help in the TV server support forum and making a bug report if the problems you have turns out to be a bug.

Usually the latest SVN is the best as most of the changes being made a bug-fixes. However, sometimes a major bug-fix can lead to new problems. I would suggest trying the latest SVN and then update daily as long as you have serious issues. (and please remember to report bugs, otherwise they wont be fixed you see :)

    I just stumbled across this in my error.log;

2008-02-14 18:50:03.281250 [ERROR][21]: Exception :confused:ystem.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
    at MediaPortal.Player.Subtitles.SubtitleRenderer.SetSubtitle(Subtitle subtitle)
2008-02-14 18:50:03.281250 [ERROR][21]: Exception :Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
    2008-02-14 18:50:03.281250 [ERROR][21]: site :Void SetSubtitle(MediaPortal.Player.Subtitles.Subtitle)

    2008-02-14 18:50:03.281250 [ERROR][21]: stacktrace: at MediaPortal.Player.Subtitles.SubtitleRenderer.SetSubtitle(Subtitle subtitle)

I dont what the cause is, etc.

Also...sometimes on ttxt subs enabled channels the lang. are off...meaning swedish is actually norwegian, finnish is danish and so forth.
the auto sel. is set to danish, but what I see is another scandinavien lang. :(
that bug has been there for a while.

I will take a look at the logs, but can you tell me anything about when this happens?

Does this always happen on the same channels? I have one .ts file where something like this happened always, but i think i convinced myself that it was a problem with the stream. If you can provide me with another .ts file where it happens it would help a lot in tracking down the problem.

Ok, I will have look into this and do a small recording of the channel when it occurs again.

About the exception - I have no clue what did this. I merely stumbled upon the logs when looking for something else, and then I found this instead.

In TV Client configuration I've enabled DVB-subtitles. However, when I first go in to watch a channel in MediaPortal, subtitles are on by default.

I'd like the option of having subtitles, but I want them to be off by default.

Only a minor thing but I couldn't find anywhere to set this.

Otherwise, subtitles working great on UK DVB-t
