    I stress I don't really know what the string is for

    It's the HARDWARE ID, and the problem comes in when the manufacturers change it (even on a driver update), so that the old TV Engine which looks for this name cannot find it in the capturecardsdefinitions.xml

    So even with 2 supposedly identical cards they actually may have different ID's from the manufacturer, this is why there are so many posts about this, and you may find in the capturecarddefinitions list identical named cards, with different ID's.

    That's why TVE3 is so wonderful.:D

    Hi,

    MediaPortal 0.2.2.0 doesn't detect my Dvico FusionHDTV DVB-T (3.62.01). Upgrading to MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 RC1 also didn't work. I noticed a new entry (Dvico FusionHDTV DVB-T Plus (3.60+)) in CaptureCardDefinitions.xml. I created a new entry based on this and now MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 RC1 detects my card. When adding the card I get two "Unable to create graph for this device!!" errors. The details of my card are: VEN_14F1&DEV_8800&SUBSYS_DB0018AC&REV_05. I have also attached the entry for my card.

    Hey amak79,

    You seem to be missing a "1" in your <filter cat="capture"... line. I think it should be:

    <filter cat="capture" name="FusionHDTV, Transport Stream Capture1" checkdevice="true"/>

    It worked! Thanks for that slobba, I somehow overlooked that "1". :oops:

    I am running 2.2.0 and Dvivo plus w/ 3.6 drivers.

    I downloaded the new 2.3.1 release and installed into an alternate directory and imported the new "CaptureCardDefinitions.xml" from 2.3.1 into the 2.2.0 directory.

    The Dvico plus cards is recognised in the "Add" section.

    Hi,

    Does anyone know how I can get the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml entry for my card into the official MediaPortal build? The card is already in the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml but that entry doesn't work with Dvico drivers 3.60+.

    I think that if you PM "dman_lfc", he will add it to the latest CaptureCardDefinitions.xml ...

    I am quite sure I have the same card as you, you might try a fresh install with the 2.3.0 release.

    I did a fresh install and it didn't work. I have a Dvico FusionHDTV DVB-T and I think you have the Plus version. The device details for my card are: VEN_14F1&DEV_8800&SUBSYS_DB0018AC&REV_05. You can get the device details from Device Manager->Sound, video and game controllers->FusionHDTV DVB-T, Unified Stream->Properties then click on Details tab.
