    Guys,

Everytime I start Mediaportal I get this red box with a notification that the current skin is outdated for 15 seconds (clickable but still irritating). I use MP 1.0 with the latest snapshot installed and with the latest Streamed MP skin 0.4.298.

Can I do something about this to make this notification go away? It is not looking nice in my opinion.

Don't delete Blue3 or Blue3Wide skins or you'll get this message.

    sorry but that's totally wrong.

Change references.xml manually to 1.0.0.3 but some menus will not work cause they're not MP 1.0.1 compatible. If you want to use streammp with MP 1.0.1 you've to use the SVN version.

My English is not good enough to understand what you are saying. Can you explain again in other words what I EXACTLY have to do to prevent this box popping up?

    thanks!

I have no clue why you guys keep hacking the references.xml....

Just start MP 3 times and you will see a checkbox to appear inside this warning window called "do not warn again" or simmilar.

just tick that, and nomore notifications.....

    I didn't know that. I always edited the refererences.xml
Would be nice if it the checkbox is already available at first warning!

Ehm...here on my two machines the red box keep coming up, with or without the option to disable the message in this pattern (each line is when MediaPortal is starting):

    - red box without checkbox
    - red box without checkbox
    - red box without checkbox
    - red box with checkbox
    - no box
    - no box
    - no box
    - red box without checkbox
    - red box without checkbox
    - red box without checkbox

    etc.

Thank you and the others for all the efforts you put into this skin! :)

Icon and BigIcon view have the same size:
It makes absolutelly no difference if you select Icon View or BigIcon view

You are correct sir. First I wanted to make the largeicon fill covers all the way to the right and have smallicon with info on the right side. Then I realized you can't have different "width" on largeicon and smallicon. :(

I have been tweaking the common.facade.video.xml a bit do create "big icons" :).

Thank you chris - this is an answer to spuck as well (containing width and heigth) ;)

I have one suggestion about your improvement though:
Both views show the same amount of information - the big icon style just uses space more efficiently. The original idea behind different views however was to offer an alternative from usability aspect. Who will use smaller icons if he has no benefit from that (like seeing more rows)?

Actually my bigicon view display one item less per row then the small icon does. this is the result of the increased size.

If i would have an +42" TV i would use the smallicon view, but since i only have a poor 32" one i need "big icons". :)
