[Problem] New Tool: episodescanner

Hi disaster,

great tool!!

I got a problem with it.

If the tool runs all is ok. But at the moment where it take a "DB Backup" I get an error: "Unzulässige Parameteranzahl".

I attached the log file and my config.

Hi I must be stupid, cant get this to work right.. I have attached my log. My goal is to have this put in Season and Episode and I guess use TVWishList tell Media Portal to only record new episodes not reruns (ps why in the world is this so hard when MCE and tivo and cable DVR and sat DVR all can do it and they are everywhere???)..

Am I on the right track here?

Great tool, works well.

FYI

I noticed that episodescanner was stuck whilst scanning thetvdb TV series Foreign correspondent.

I had a look at thetvdb entries and there were a number of episodes with episode number 0, and some like 20100222.

I changed the zero episodes to 1,2,3 etc. and episode scanner did not freeze anymore.

There will be a new version soon - it automatically times out when tvdb is too slow or down.

Great.

However in the case above I suspect the application was caught on the data it had received, as I ran it several times using the debug script and it always froze at the same point parsing data at the end of a series. After cleaning the the tvdb entries so there were no episodes numbered zero, it never froze again.

I think the best way to run this is on a single seat is as a windows service, so the output does not pop up on the screen.

I would like to be able to have mediaportal call this once each the xml plugin updates the database, but I can't see a way to do this.

I think its because I have my EPG setup to set new episodes to have an * in the name then I use TVWishlist to schedule to record only New Episodes. For a Dumb Dumb like me, how do I tell this to treat the * as though it werent there?

I believe episodescanner can do string substitution on the entry in the database before searching thetvdb.

I've never used this so sorry I can't help any more than provide this suggestion.
