Hi all,

Dvbsubtittle filter is not recommended from Deaf people's feedback in regards to no black bar background. We need that for better reading. Can you see if you could use core cc filter if it works?

Owlsroost, Good job getting cc data parsing for H264 you are now exciting me more after four years waiting for something like this.

hi
I have the kodi developer showing interest in providing a solution for kodi's front end. I gave him the link http://sourceforge.net/projects/cccp/ and it is currently empty files and project, is this hosted a different location to provide him some files? he is looking for resources and format how a provider embedded the cc or how core cc parser works.
He is stating that providers are not using the standard 608/708 captioning which is why we are not seeing the CC.

many thanks

    Getting there:

    Jumbled H264 CC.png

The characters are jumbled (but all seem to be present) - it should say:

THESE COLUMNS HERE ARE 4 FEET
    IN THE GROUND BY CODE,

    ....but it's a good start :)

(The text in the editor is the transcript of the CC from CCExtractor, the video text is from the modified Core CC filter)

P.S. - it is CEA-608 format captioning data carried in CEA-708 encapsulation. That particular file is 'DirectTV' provider code.

He should look at the CCExtractor code - http://ccextractor.sourceforge.net/download-ccextractor.html - and this page for background - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CEA-708. The CC data is carried as one of the possible payloads in SEI packets in an H.264 video stream.

I realized yesterday how to fix 'jumbled characters' problem - I need to sort the CC data into the correct temporal order (it arrives in video decode order, not presentation order....of course - doh!).
