... continuing from the other thread, regarding the remote problems:

yes, it should fix the problem as well.
could you post your mediaportal.log please? maybe i see something
    which remote are you using?

After some further testing I could isolate the problem somewhat. It appears to depend also on whether a visualization is enabled or not:

If no visualization is enabled there is a problem if, and only if, the Play button is pressed on the remote before music is played any other way. After music has been played at least once, either by navigating to the music section or by using the playlist shortcut of the One Button Music plug-in (i.e. pressing "1" on the remote, which works perfectly fine), everything works as expected thereafter. It also only occurs if the Play button on the remote is used; pressing "p" on the keyboard works as expected and thereafter also the remote Play button works as expected without problem. I can, however, reliably reproduce the problem by pressing Play on the remote immediately after starting MP. In this case, the music starts to play but no remote buttons work anymore except the navigation buttons (left, right, up, down and enter). Furthermore, no small cover and song information is displayed in the lower left corner of the screen. I attach the log for this case ("Immediate Play without visualization.log") which, however, doesn't show anything unusual.

If visualization is enabled, the result is similar insofar as the problem does not occur if the keyboard is used (both "p" and "1" work fine) and neither if the remote "1" is pressed. However, remote Play does not work as expected under any circumstances. If music has been played before, pressing remote Play will start the music but the remote will stop working; the lower left corner shows the visualisation but no song information; nothing unusual in the log (attached as "Play after music.log"). If, however, no music has been played before, pressing remote Play will NOT start the music and the remote will stop working and this is the only case where there actually is an error message in the log (attached as "Immediate play with visualization.log", one for the WMP Alchemy and one for the R4 visualisation, as the error message is different).

I am using an MCE remote (actually an Harmony One, programmed as MCE remote).

The problem is that you are using the PureAudio plugin.
The fixed Core.dll contains a fix in BassAusio, which you are not using, snce you enabled PureAudio.
i notified already symphy, what needs to be done on his side, but don't know, if he did the changes. at least he didn't reply back and i haven't seen him for a while in irc now.

try to disable PureAudio and use native BASS and you'll see the problem is gone.
Please get in touch with symphy to fix the issue for you. he shoud know what is to be done.

yes, there's a problem with remotes and that is fixed by the Core.dll which i published in the other thread.

i use rc4, hauppauge 45button remote and the 100 rnd tracks option. tried this core.dll you mentioned and still experienced some problems.

keyboard functions work without any problems so far i can tell, but if i use the remote and press play a list of 100 rnd tracks has been generated (heavy loading hdd *) and a mp3 is playing. but there is no track info and cover displayed of the playing mp3 and is not the first mp3 in the list - it's the last one. no more remote keys work expect for the cursor keys and ok, cover is shown. can only be stopped via keyboard/mouse. (stopping playback, start any mp3 manual and pressing play again on homescreen will generate a new rnd100-playlist and this one is started correctly with cover in lower left corner and playing the first listed track... dogbert already mentioned this in his post above which i can confirm!)

the number buttons won't work at all - no reaction.

this problem only occurs if you press play on remote and didn't do anything else before like playing music.
(*) the hdd works some time and fills up the error.log with all 100 tracks of the rnd generated playlist with the following errormessage:

    2008-12-07 21:49:01.625000 [ERROR][6]: PlaylistPlayer: *** unable to play - E:\Media\Audio\Music\Albums\Red Hot Chili Peppers\Greatest Hits\08. Red Hot Chili Peppers - By The Way.mp3 - skipping track!
2008-12-07 21:49:01.671875 [ERROR][6]: BASS: Play caused an exception: System.ArgumentException: Steuerelemente, die für einen Thread erstellt wurden, können nicht einem Steuerelement in einem anderen Thread übergeordnet werden.
    bei System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlCollection.Add(Control value)
    bei System.Windows.Forms.Form.ControlCollection.Add(Control value)
    bei MediaPortal.Player.BassAudioEngine.SetVisualizationWindow()
    bei MediaPortal.Player.BassAudioEngine.Play(String filePath).

if i use the keyboard the playlist is instantly created. cover and current playing song is shown in the left lower corner...

now on further testing i realized that this "heavy hdd activity" is not only creating the playlist. mp starts to play every single track one after another (heard several small parts of songs where there was no silence at the beginning...) until it comes to the last one, which isn't skipped. this is the track you hear after you pressed play on the remote...!

could you please post the full log?

    here is the log...

also i have to correct one thing:

[...] no more remote keys work expect for the cursor keys and ok, cover is shown. can only be stopped via keyboard/mouse. [...]

this is still fact, but stopping the playing song is only possible via start playing another mp3, not via the topbar nor via pressing B=stop on keyboard...

    Hi hwahrmann,

The jump function works fine. However, once initiated and the songs are playing, each time I press a remote button it jumps to the now playing screen.
Eg if I run MP and press play, it starts playing random tracks and jumps to now playing - correct function. If I press back it takes me to the homescreen - correct function. If I then scoll up or down it jumps to now playing - incorrect function. If I press back it takes me to home screen - correct function. If I then press enter it jumps to now playing - incorrect function.

Obviously this problem has only been introduced since v1.3 with the new jump option and only when it is enabled (now playing or playlist jump function).

    Cheers,
    Colin

    hi,

great idea. But how to install?

    Best regards

Download the .zip file and extract the dll contained within it. PLace the dll file in C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\process\

Goto MP config to configure the plugin

    Cheers,
    Colin

Colin, yeah noticed that yesterday as well and uploaded 1.3.1, which fixes that.

    i need the mediaportal.log.

and could you please try with the attached debug version of Core.dll?
it should give me some line numbers, where the code fails.

First of all: superb good idea plugin!!

I'm experiencing the exact same problem as el_gato.
When you start up MP and press play on MCE remote it loads (quickly) a playlist, but starts playing an empty mp3, I mean, no audio information and not part of the playlist. When I go to the playlist it's there alright, without the playing track. It doesn't move to the now playing screen of playlist. I can't use the stop or play next buttons.

When I use the function via P on the keyboard all works great. It will go to the now playing screen and all works fine.
If I try it now via the remote it will work fine too.

    MP RC4
    plugin 1.3.1 (newest)
    adapted core.dll

    thanks for your good work!!

Same deal here. I attached the logs which has some references to threading issues.
Using RC4. Just did a clean install for some other reasons

Is there an easy way to remap a different key on the remote to the "P"?
That would solve the problem too.

I can't figure it out in the remapping menu of remote MCE.

    sorry, bit of offtopic.

as i said above, i need mediaportal.log and not error.log.
And preferably tested with the debug version of Core.dll attached above
