No i have a normal microsoft mce remote who works out of the box.
The problem i have with the browser is, that mp or the browser window steels the focus either from mp window or browser window. if the browser window has focus, then the mediaportal shortcuts (and the buttons on the remote) doesnt work. if mediaportal has the focus, then zooming in the browser doesnt work :/

So it would be nice when the mp shortcuts would work even if the browser window has focus, but to add this "feature", i have to change the mediaportal sources. When i have the time i'll try to add a complete browser to mediaportal.

Well, I use MCE remote too, kind of, via Logitech Harmony. If one uses IR server suite, there are more possibilities to setup. For instance Translator, wich is a program in the suite that connects focused windows with desired remote commands. Maybe you should let the browser get the focus + the mouse cursor, and then MP will get focus back when exiting the browser.

Yes but the mp shortcuts doesn't work when the browser window is focused, so i have no event for the mp previous window command. At the moment the focus is switching between mp and browser window. I think this works quite nice, but has some little but not annoying bugs. The only annoying thing is that the remote doesn't work right. But honestly, I still haven't searched for this bug :/

This may be along the same lines... I have to press 'esc' on the keyboard or 'clear' on my remote twice to exit the browser and return to MP. I use 'clear' on the remote to go back to previous screen in MP.

fadelabel patch available for (for example) RSS feed

I posted a patch to MP here that modifies the fadelabel control to wrap around from back to front without first scrolling completely off of the screen.

If you use the MPInfoService RSS feed with a fadelabel I think you'll like this patch.

I ran across a small usability issue with infoservice... The web browser will fill the full resolution of the skin, but for 4X3 skins that need to allow for overscan on analog TVs, you cannot scroll to the edges of the displayed text. Can you make a toggle that will adjust the web window for 10% smaller visible screen space (centered)? Just needs to subtract 10% from height and width, then offset half that distance, down and to the right.

    Thanks!

I think i have already fixed this. The web browser window will now be sized after the mediaportal form and i guess this form respects the overscan.

On the weekend i did a lot of work on the browser. The browser now works nearly perfect with keyboard, mouse and remote. There are only some small issues i must fix. I think now it's a good and nice browser for mediaportal. The only thing whats missing is a dialog box for entering an url and also a little favorite system. But i think this is not so much work. I will release the browser in a extra plugin and infoservice (and also other plugins) can use this browser to show something on the web or a html on the hard drive.

Expect something this week, hopefully :D

Does this mean you can size and position the browser window in the infoservice.xml using posX/posY and height/width controls? That would work best for 4x3 overscan, without scaling the GUI in Settings. Rescaling the GUI sometimes introduces odd placement/sizing problems in other areas of MP, so I avoid using it.

No this would be only possible if i change the mediaportal source and add a browser control. But this is something i didn't thought of. I must look into the mediaportal source an check how easy/hard it is to implement that.

I mean the browser will resize to the size of the mediaportal window. If you change the size of the mediaportal window the browser window will automatically change his size to the new size of the mediaportal window.

Well, currently the plugin shows the sun/moon times in user's local time. As you said, It would require to add time zone parameter to the profile. I'll try to add this option in the next version. PS: please use official thread
