Strange. It could be the speed setting that MyBlaster has always had. I've now put that into my plugin and you can try it out in the latest test versions.

There's a thread in this sub-forum with a test version you can try. Give that a go and see if it solves the problem.

Hi Loaded the new plugin and i think your correct about it being the the speed setting as I was now able to import the skybox ir profile ok, last time i had to learn and faf about to get it to work, slowed the send rate and it now seems very, very reliable.

One thing my events don't seem to work now, used to turn off tv and external box on pc hibernate, i was a little confused by the new "Enable" button as it doesn't seem to have any effect? should it change to state?, the old tick box was very clear now i am abit confused don't please don't take the is wrong way its still an excelleant plugin. Any advice?

Have you thought about adding the option to send "backup" messages to the external skybox on time interval to clear those banner and press the red button now type messages, I have seen other devices offer this type of functionality.

Excellant pluggin - keep up the good work goin to try the serial to the TV next loose that blaster on the front of the TV.

Hi Darren,

That's great news. It sounds like the blasting is becoming more reliable now, which is fantastic. But if you can get serial comms working then you're set because that's even more reliable.

I'll check the event mapper code and see if I can fix it. I'll also look at turning those check-buttons (the "Enable" ones) back into check boxes, you're right it is more intuitive to use check-boxes.

I hadn't thought of sending "backup" messages, because I don't even use a set top box! Can you explain the concept a little more? I mean, I think I know what you're saying... You'd like the plugin to blast a command every couple of minutes to clear stb popups from the screen?

Sounds reasonable enough. If you could just go into a little more detail then I can go to work implementing it.

Is their a work around for the events enable issue as not quite sure if its on or off, maybe file entry i can check?

Ok about the "backup" command i came across it here

The idea of send a "backup" after a channel change is nice as it takes down the channel banner really quickly, maybe selectable post change command with delay.

The idea of the 30 second pulse is nice with the rear mounted box skyeye box not sure if its cool with IR blaster on TV as it might be a bit of a distraction.

Still a cool plugin though

All the main settings for the plugin are contained in the MediaPortal.xml file.

Like this:

If you set that to "yes" then you can be sure it's enabled. Let me know if it gives you any trouble though, maybe I've accidentally broken the Event Mapper.

DarrenS, I'm trying your work around, but the learn & test buttons are greyed out in myblaster. How'd you get it to work? Is there a specific version of myblaster you're using?

The myblaster is version 0.1.2.16691 tken from file properties i believe its the current version in the plugins folder.

I am sure its to do with the speed setting as the newer mce replacement has this setting and its now very reliable. The old Amstrad Skybox only seems to work on fast if this is the kind of issue you are having. I only ever had to get myblaster to learn one code then, test it and then switch back to mce replacement and all was well.

Yeah, that's one I'm trying, but the log says it can't find myblaster.dat. If I create a dummy myblaster.dat file, it says 'Attempting to deserialize an empty stream'.
Can you post your dat file, or pm it to me? Edit: Nevermind, I found one in my recycle bin & if I try that one, it says 'Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute', so I doubt yours would work anyways.
