seems like my TVshows won't display properly when they don't have a title on each episode.

I have them as
Seinfeld Season 1/01.avi
Seinfeld Season 1/02.avi

but won't work unless i call the files "01 - pilot" and "02 - something"
even though i haven't written <title> at all in the parsing expressions.

I use <series> Season <season>\<episode>

anyone knows an answer to this?

Fixed it by typing
<series> Season <season>\<episode>.avi
<series> Season <season>\<episode>.mkv
<series> Season <season>\<episode>.mpg
<series> Season <season>\<episode>.wmv
in the parsing expressions :) :) :)

Still i don't get double episodes to work. Named the filenames 1&2...

:D for a great plugin

Good one. First I was going to say "just add an extension match or an empty match for the extension" but then i noticed a bug in the code. I fixed it.
but you still need to add a match for the extension:
<series> Season <season>\<episode>.<>

For simple expressions I might just make sure that season & episode are only matching numbers... does that sound good?

Hi zeflash,

just wanted to give along my RegEx:
Code:
(?<series>[^\\]*)\\Season (?<season>[0-9]+)( \([a-z]+\))*\\Episode (?<episode>[0-9]+)( - (?<title>.*))?

My file structure looks like this:
Code:
E:\Serien\{name of series}\Season {season nr.}{optional: space and language in brackets: (en)}\Episode {episode nr.}{optional: space, slash and epsiode title}

Works like a charm... :)

Jericho has an easy fix since it’s a new series anyone can quickly rename 7-8 episodes. You have to rename the series name from Jericho to Jericho (2006) and also rename the filename if you use simple string to start with Jericho (2006) instead of just Jericho. Although it’s a bit strange why the plugin doesn’t ask for the correct series just like Battlestar Galactica.
I've fixed the way the "automatching" works (actually I made it work like it should have :) )
When the "automatch series name" checkbox isn't check, if the series name is found in multiple results (it's the case for jericho) it will ask the user EVEN if there is an exact match (it's the case for jericho).
That also means that it's going to ask for user input a lot more, but I assume it's fine.

If the checkbox is checked, then whenever there is an exact match then it will be used.

I think I have found two possible bugs.

1) When the episode name includes alphabetic and numeric characters the application gets confused in some way and doesn’t recognize the series name, Season ID, Episode ID and Episode title.
examples below
The Unit S01E03 - 200th Hour.avi
Supernatural S01E13 - Route 666.avi
Prison Break S02E05 - Map 1213.mkv

All of the above three episodes where the only ones not recognized by the plugin.
Indeed, my regex for files not in folders was wrong, the series name was greedy instead of lazy. I've fixed that.

2) I am not sure if this is a bug or it has a purpose but on the parsing Test the first character of the filename is been cut off. (Not a bug really it doesn’t affect the application in any way as far as I can see)

Never saw that.

Added to sourceforge. Anyone is welcome to help with the code, create new importers, etc. I'll be trying to maintain my to-do list on sourceforge. Once the MP plugin goes beta I'll be setting up the mirrors, since I've been making frequent updates to the interfaces lately.

New release, labeled 0.2 (why not, given my rythm).

0.2:
- fixed/tweaked parsing test & local parsing
- fixed/tweaked some issues in the simple expressions, should work better now
- finalized the "automatch series" setting, changed the way it works when it's not checked (there should be any more false positives)
- hitting the back key in MCE (which does the same thing as the ESC key) now goes up one level instead of going back to home
- banner local filenames are now filtered and cannot include invalid chars anymore (will work for series with invalid chars in their names)
- modified the default expression for them to take in account the extension
- modified the default regular expression for files not in series folders so that it doesn't fail on episodes with numbers in their episode name.

To get the update default expressions, you have 2 options:
1) remove all the existing expressions, restart the plugin
2) delete the db & start over

I think you should start with option 1 :)

I'll start the customization steps now, along with another feature I need

great work zeflash. I am really impressed keep up ur rythm.

I have also asked if its possible to give the tvseries.xml file a different ID no instead of 0 as 0 is been used by home.xml and if i want to customize my basic home screen and include MP-TVSeries to it which i plan to then it dosent work because the xml ID overlaps with the home.xml file.

Any change of puting version 0.2 on MP Repository?
Thanks again zeflash

im really impressed with this plugin.

Im almost able to get thing perfect just now.

My only problem is how tv.com numbers the episodes.

For example I consider the miniseries of battlestar galactica to be seperate from the first series. but tv.com belives that the miniseries is the first 4 episodes of series one. So im going to have do somthing to fix it so its right for me.

but over all im very happy.

keep up the good work

i've got the exact same issue - but i think i'll just give in and renumber my episodes to match the database
