When do PLUGINS ever (if ever) get integrated into the full distribution of MP? Given that the code is all open, I would think that some PLUGINS would be popular enough to start perminantly putting into MP.

The problem is that very often a Plugin dev lost interest in supporting his plugin further and then we had the unmaintained plugin lying around in our code base.
so we'd rather leave them out of base mp.

That makes sense. I was hoping that the code would get adopted by the base development team, but I see your point implied that the base developers do not want the added burden of the unsupported code.

that being said, some plugins do make it to base code, but only when they are very stable and well tested. You can see this by looking at some of the plugins that are installed by a clean MP install.

A little bit more than the fact this would be heavy to maintain DEVs and TESTs, it would increase lines source code of MP (and larger size of release), without interest for all users because all plugins are not used by everyone, depending on differents configurations and use.

Personally, I would like to see MP ship with NO plugins. not a single one - so when I load up MP, all I will be presented with is a blank home screen.

It's better to have a base program, and add the plugins that you need (TV, music, movies, etc...), then to install an overbloated program with many plugins that you'll never use. This is currently the case for me.

I have recently installed MediaPortal 1.37 (x64) and MP-TVSeries v4.5.1.697 and unfortunately the TV episode runtime duration is missing in my Titan skin. This only applies to my .TS files, my .MKV files are OK. I believe the difference is likely to be because .MKV files embed the runtime in the file unlike .TS files. I have done...
