I moved the TV-card to another PC to try and eliminate one source of error. I watched TV for a while (now in multiseat mode) and then got a freeze again. Since TV3E now runs on another PC I could check logs etc little easier. It believe the freeze happened sometime between 22:15 and 22:19. While I was trying to connect to stream with VLC it suddently got going again, at about 22:23.
I don't know enough about the internals of TV3E to understand the logfiles. Perhaps someone can help?
I still don't know if this is because of the card, or because of TV3E, or a combination of the two...
can you increase the size of the ts.buffer files in the tvserver config ?
I have changed it from 256 to 1024mb and it seems that this fixes the problem.
(i have changed the min and max filecount to 1 and 10 too)
(this is not 100% because i am still testing, but it looks very good)
I'm runing another test right now, using the patched version of TSWriter.ax that handles jumps in PCR (don't ask me about the details but there is a thread on this well). No extensive tests done yet so I'm not sure if this could be the problem.
Hi people!
I had similar problems (slow channel startup, no channel change possible, noaudio-novideo errors, recordings fail). I could cure the problem through codec settings (I set ffdshow to all stable/possible formats). It looks like tswriter is sensitive to the through windows preferred codecs (merits). Your codec choice for TV in Mediaportal looks like having no effect on the MPG2-Codec used by TV-Server/tsWriter. If I let TVEngine use ffdshow for both audio/video through setting it as preferred codec in windows than it functions! I hope I could help some.
Have you had time to test the new version of TSWriter.ax that gemx published yesterday? It seems it addresses a similar problem as the version I'm using.
My tests so far with the modified TSWriter look promising but I would not make any final conclusions yet. Having said that, I have not had any freezes since I installed it...
I run TV all night with the new TsWriter and didn't have a single glitch/freeze. I checked the logs this morning and looked for the dreadful "Repaint 0" but had none. So far so good
