AW: Re: Problems with dropping frames with EVR

So, I found a new problem now.

I have a similar problem, but it does appear about every 10 minutes. A stutter is introduced for about one or two seconds without a dropped frame or anything in the logs. Don't know which svn exactly causes this, but this is a new problem. So far I only saw this on 25 frames played back on 50 Hz but other combinations may be affected as well.

    nyt and grubi:
Only LiveTV or also playing back records/movies?

    nyt:
the graphs look like mine, when I tried disasters last dll. Sure, that the current used DLL is the #2 from the other thread (this is the one inside the new SVN)?

    I Had to overclock

I own Nv 8400 GS(g98) and Ati HD4350 cards. When Mp develops better and better I've had more and more problems
with HDTV. Around December-early Jan 2010 i still had smooth HD playback. After that it has gone worse and worse.

I'm running out of power, i guess, and maybe Canal Digital Nordic has increased HD material resolution, or interlacing. I can't remember what they were in December.

Well i overclocked cpu slightly, from 266 fsb to 275 and HD4350 core from 600 to 700 & mem also to 700(with rivatuner).

Now i can have quite smooth HD playback again.

So My E6400 CPU & HD4350 is not good enough for playing smooth HD 1080p without overclocking. This is just FYI, so that
we remember this side also. Card manufacturers often give too small system requirements for 1080p playback.

    Regards,

Im getting a lot of dropped frames also ...

    On SVN 25055.

    Logs are posted.

Some times it is so much that live TV simply stops and returns to mediaportal application.

    Regards

I also have to overclock my CPU. but for me it's easy to explain, it's an ATOM 330 with ION. Unfortunately, I only can test HD records and not LiveTV. I tried an AnixeHD record which is 1080i (correct me, if i am wrong) and that played absolutely smooth. Also all 1080p playbacks I have are smooth. Do you know, how Canal Digital Nordic is encoding its streams?

just for movies, i dont have a tv feed.

This was the latest DLL from SVN. I also tested all 4 DLLs (and disasters) with the same result.

this isn't a cpu/gpu power issue, as it happens with lower resolution stuff that's really easy to render. I've tried 3 different codecs (Ffdshow, ms, coreavc) and it behaves the same with each. ms is dxva accelerated, coreavc uses cuda, and ffdshow uses cpu.

So far I only checked LiveTV. Not sure if recordings also show this problem.
I also checked DLL 1, 2 and 3 which do not have any impact on this.
    As I'm on E4400 + Radeon HD2600XT I don't think this is a performance problem.

    Cheers,
    grubi.

I think I covered this in the first post, but all plugins are disabled.

you only wrote, that all process plugins are disabled. i don't know, if other plugins also could decrease playback performance, so I'm gonna asking twice... double checking is better than trying to eliminate a failure where no failure is....
