As I already wrote the overlays are global and may as in your case overlap other text.
Only solution is to deactivate those overlays in different screens.
Doing so e.g. for you, other users will complain why overlay is not shown in this or that screen

Well, what I thougth is a bit different :
No change for overlays.
But maybe (remember, I'm not a skinner), the text "Videos Categories / Auto/Moto . J'ENVOIE MA NOUVELLE RS6 EN ENFER couldn't it be splitted in a 3rd line (at the bold "dot" point) ?

Again, that would be for you only
PVHD is designed that way, that 1st line shows time, date and weather infos; 2nd line shows the most relevant information of the current screen, 3rd line shows additional info of the current screen.
This approach will not be changed - but feel free to adapt the skin to your needs (as other users already have done as can be seen in this thread )

Well, clearly, I don't want something for personal use.
I never use OnlineVideo, I entered there because, it's embedded in PVHD skin and, I was curious.
I never installed OV by myself.
I'm pretty sure this overlap could arise in english language too.
Then, I though plugins skins managment was different than music, pictures, videos MP parts.
Also, I saw your skin support File_Explorer plugin, it's a long time I didn't use it.
I have to confirm that it continue to work since age with MP 1.25 too.
I will try to see how this plugin works with PVHD. (before B2, there were default and default wide skins, I don't know if you remember).
I had headacke with this skins part that I didn't like, at this moment.
Happy to see that StreamedMP skin and other takes care about this skin part...

If you did not install OV, it would not display inPVHD!
File Explorer works perfect in PVHD as well

I promise you I never installed OV, nothing in MPEI but, I can see it in videos carrousel.
Are you sure OV plugin is not installed with the skin, a bit like music equalizer.dll ?
I'm sure you made a great work for file_explorer plugin, I can't wait to see that !

Hi Catavolt,
Finally got around to attempting to GIF my various 'Smart One' tabs, according to your explicit directions

Guess I must be doing something incorrectly, as whatever tab(s) I setup -to run a custom GIF- they all run the same one! Is there any specific resolution requirements on GIF formatting?

This is what I have tried, so far: --these have been generated using an online GIF creator
-all installed to: C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\skin\PureVisionHD 1080\Media\Animations\BasicHome

-tv.gif -profile = 89a
-width = 640pix x 512 pix

-video.gif -profile = 89a
-width = 704pix x 562pix (4:3 aspect ratio) -this won't play at all, if I attempt to run only this GIF. If I try to set this, MP just bootloops, & I have to use task manager to end program.

-music.gif -profile = 89a
-width = 600pix x 400pix

Setup:

Themes/Smart One/BasicHome.xml: -inserted directly below the <description>TV Off image</description> control.

There's no rush on this, it merits as a wishlist customisation. If no time to look; no worries.

At present, the 3 tabs setup: TV, Videos, & NowPlaying are all playiing the tv.gif file.
-The NowPLaying GIF is set to #AUDIO1, inside <BasicHomeEditorDefines.xml>
I am assuming there is only 1 identical line of code -as you specified, in the original post- in each *.xml file?
I have supplied the customised files, so you can validate I have, in fact, followed your instructions accurately.
guess this only proves I am not a skinner

Also, not sure if Have another bug issue:
-I have <World WeatherLite> installed. The homepage screen appears to show raw code on it.

Have supplied full logs, just in case.

Well, you have a typo in your BasicHome.xml:

<shouldCache>true</shouldCache>
    <control>
      <description>VIDEO image</description>

There is a missing closing tag </control>, so it must look like this:

<shouldCache>true</shouldCache>
</control>
    <control>
      <description>VIDEO image</description>

And after the new VIDEO entry, you have 2 </control> tags instead of 1
This may have happened during a copy/paste action
So if you correct this and add the NowPlaying control in the same way, all should work
The BasicHomeEditorDefines is OK
