You can use all skins that we have in SVN, that's BlueTwo, MCE, Razor. MetalMedia and ProjectX.

Those skins are offered by the team and we have no problems with modifications, extensions or whatever.

If you find other skins in our download repository or somewhere else on the internet (that were specifically done for MediaPortal), you need the author's permission to use/extend/modify the graphics. XML files are considered as derived work from MediaPortal (structure, commands, etc.), so can be used without the need of the author's permission. You can see it like the team offered the template and the author modified them for his skin. This is the case for each and every MP skin that has ever been developed and will always stay like that.

That's what the GPL says: http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html

Well thats the whole poing of Opensource is to share things, and make them better :)

But of course if people want to make their own original gfx then withdraw them thats their choice.

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...

You can always try, select any window, turn off the Media Portal, change the ID of the selected one to the desired one (plugin) and check.
