question about scheduling recordings (1 Viewer)

does MP start by itself if it is off and has a scheduled recording? cause running it constantly is a system drag for me.

Short answer: No, MP does not start up alone when windows is already running, but MP was closed. You though have the possibility to let MP hibernate your computer and then wake up for the selected shows...

u think it might be possible in the future to develop a small plugin that would act like a scheduler in the background like MCE? that way MP would open adn close as needed for recordings.

The upcoming TV engine 3.0 runs as a windows service and so it runs always ready to record

With the pvr-scheduler plugin MP starts when a recording is due.

My system hibernates when it is not used, and wakes up without a hassle to record shows. Standard media portal functionality...
