im using the 16:9 skin Black & White v0.8. https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/black-white-1080p-286/6-10-black-white-1080-v0-8-a-46101/
It works with all the standard functions AND with (as far as I know) all plugins out there... AJ1405 is realy delivering good quality work on this skin...

I'm with you.... um .... still in the Dark Ages.

I 'd recommend Purevision (not PureVisionHD)... you'll have to wait a bit for the rc3 version to show up on the download page, Catavolt just uploaded it.
I'm (still) making a mod of PureVision for 800x600 display output... although it doesn't look anything like PureVision. A long way from being ready to distribute, but it is mostly working for me with the basic core functions.
