I'm new to this program and am wondering if I am able to record from a camcorder (DV) through the AverMedia TV card that I am using? Is there a way? I have a Dell running Vista.
I got a new laptop and it does not have a firewire port. I do have a media card which has attachments for component inputs. I can plug in a camcorder or DVD, etc. Is there a capture program that you know of that will record from these? Is MediaPortal capabel of this?

Gracenote has a round robin for its DNS and they have changed it several times.
Copy the below and make it a batch file (zap2it_check.bat) and then run it every so often (or when your automated update fails) you can check the dns to see if the round robin has changed. If so you can just reedit your hosts file.

If it's an apartment block, it's quite likely that the LNB is something exotic that handles Sky and others. Try a different LNB frequency (and possibly the low and high frequency settings. I know little of such things, but apparently Sky is often 10750. Give it a try. Freeview is horizontally polarised.
