Using the old internal TV engine provided with Mediaportal, yes you can, but you use at your own risk as to whether it supports your TV card.
TVServer currently does not allow this

I uninstalled MP, made sure no sub folders were left n any programmes folders, changed the computer name, rebooted, installed MP and set logs and rebooted and ran TVServer. Didn't do anything in regard to S Loopback adapter.

Update from 1.21 to 1.31 or 1.32 - no live TV with MP, recording and playing is working - solved

It's working after some hours search: the Auto3D plugin which I haven't used for years was corrupting the start of the TV live stream from server to MP.
If anyone has a similar problem - disable all old plugins and then enable one after another :-)
