    Hoborg,

Is there a way to not let "Multi-Chan PCM" be used? I ask this as when I play a newer movie, say an r5 that doesn't have dts or dolby, it goes to multi-chan pcm on my receiver, the sound just doesn't sound good... also on some movies it "pops" at certain scenes in the movies, almost like speaker crackle.... :(

    vista 32bit
    ati 9.7
    saf 3.49beta24
    mediaportal aplpa 1.1 latest svn.

    cheers!

I've spent a lot of time messing with SAF to try and make the audio side a bit better. So far best results have been to install SAF then install AC3Filter, MP Config Video Player unchanged (ie Audio: MPA Decoder, AAC: Monogram) then add AC3Filter to video post processing. Setup MPA Decoder to use SPDIF, and don't downmix AAC. Setup AC3Filter to use SPDIF and disable multichannel PCM, use SPDIF passthrough for the others. Disable the mixer/gain control etc because you don't need that. Set Channels=AS IS, bitrate = 32bit. AC3filter help with some jumpy video frames i was experiencing in one of my rips too.

I want to change my advice for spdif audio.... although AC3Filter post processing alone works great, it doesn't correctly map 5.1 AAC. So I am now using FFDSHOW for everything and AC3Filter for post processing (Seems to avoid jumpy video if FFDSHOW is used alone). I initially had a bit of trouble using ffdshow audio without breaking saf. make sure both codecs pass the same bitrate.

EDIT: for those playing with codecs, they may want to check out this all in one bootable cd http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd , (it has acronis true image, which i recommend)

    Hoborg,
Do you keep track of what the changes are? Curious as to what the changelog tells us. Maybe specific patches or benifits... whatever.. :) Where can I find this info?

I'm a happy user of SAF but after importing the movie files from my Photocamera i found out that SAF filters do not playback these videos.

    Any idea Hoborg? Thanks man.

No idea what exactly was changed, Cyberlink have no change log available for specific files.

    Can you post small example?
BTW, haali didnt like MJPG format in AVI, i bet you fix it by remuxing AVI to MKV by MKVmerge...
