AW: SAF v4.00 ''stable'' (StandAlone Filters) - DXVA ready (H.264 and VC-1).

I'm receiving the same error. However, videos are always playing fine after closing and restarting Media Portal. The very same problem occurs at all different types of videos on my system (TS recordings, H264 videos, Xvid, etc.): Videos wont play and I receive an error message; but the video plays just fine after restarting MP. Does anybody have the same experience?

This problem occurred when I was trying out SAF 4 for the first time and it never went away even though I deinstalled SAF and tried out different versions of SAF. Currently, I'm using the newst beta 5 version.

Besides this annoying problem, SAF is doing a very great job!!!

Cheers,

Greg

P.S. My system: Win XP SP3; MP 1.02; all SAF versions since 4.0 beta 23; newest CCC on a on board ATI HD 3200 system; no codec packs or other stuff installed.

Hey hoborg,

I am having issues with 1080i HDTV content. I use Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 codec for HDTV and it works flawlessly with 720p material. However, when I switch to a 1080i channel, I noticed that I get some stutter. I investigated this further and Shift + 1 shows me that about 15% of the frames are dropped and I get a framerate of about 25fps.

I tried changing the codec. CoreAVC gives a smoother pictures but the deinterlacing looks pretty bad and framerate is about 40fps. MPC-HC codec works absolutely perfect! The picture is silky smooth (full 50fps, no droppes frames) and the quality is truly amazing. However, when I change to a 720p channel I get weird problems (picture is shown in 720p on 1080p screen with the edges of the picture stretched out to fill the rest of the screen) and then MP crashes.

Do you have any advice?

This have nothing to do with SAF.

Oh really? Man, so what do you think the problem is?

You must remux TS in to MKV (use SAF tool DSmux).
MP TS reader do not support VC-1 in TS.

I'm having trouble playing wmv streams (Online Videos plugin). Is this a known issue, or are there some Configuration steps I need to follow to get them working in MePo? I'm using RC1 of SAF 4 *unlocked*.

    **Solved**Hello Hoborg,

i just bought the Acer aspire 3610 and was looking forward to using your codec for DXVA.

Everything is working flawlessly in MPC-HC, but in mediaportal it stutters a lot. I'm using Windows 7, and i ensured to use the mpc-hc codec for h.264

what can i provide to assist the troubleshooting?

Resolution: Stupid Win7 has .NET Framework 3.51 disabled, i had to enable it for EVR to work properly.
