Been seeing your problem too with SAF 4.00 Stable and the latest MP and Streamed MP. Video goes black and you sometimes hear the audio keep going or it starts skipping like a broken record until MP crashes. If I restart mkv file it will play fine. Happening randomly for me.

    • You need to have MediaPortal (1.1 or newer recomended) installed

Is MP 1.1 really the minimum for this?
I have some minor issues with codecs - have ffdshow & haali installed - and now that I installed the online videos plugin, quite some of that content is not playable.
So I saw that this package would be THE solution but nowhere in this thread a word about MP 1.0.2 seems to be mentioned.

    hey guys,

I have a problem with saf and I had hoped you might be able to help me.

The last week I installed saf and configured it. First I was using saf4.00 stable but then switched to a beta version, which works like a charm for me except for one thing:
Some *.mkv's doesn't get played in mediaportal.

I analysed the use of codecs via graph studio and attached the images to this post.
As you can see film 1 is well played in mpc-hc and mediaportal while film 2 is played in mpc-hc using a different ffdshow filter but doesn't get played in mediaportal, where i get the message as seen in fehler.jpg. Both files are mkv's, containing ac3 audio streams in 5.1.
I use the optical spdif-out on my mainboard.
    Can anybody help me?

    Thank you.

    My system:
    Win 7 64bit
    Intel core2Duo E7200
    6gb RAM
    Radeon HD 4850
    Intel DG45id Mainboard

Is it possible to passtrhough DTA-MA and DD-TRueHD with SAF 4.00?
Because i have some mkv's with DTS-MA and i have tried to play in MPC-HC and in MediaPortal, and the sound is good in my receiver (appear DTS-MA) but the video is very slow, and it freezes.

Then I tried SAF 5.00 in MPC-HC and it works perfect, sound and image.
But in SAF 5.00 i don't know the config in "Codecs and Renderer" section.

    My system is:

    Win 7 64bits
    My CPU is a E8300
    My GPU is Powercolor HD5450
My receiver is a ONKYO 606

Sorry for double post here and in SAF.500 post.

    Hi everyone,

I have problems with HD content (720p/1080p) playing in MediaPortal (1.1.0 RC1). After a couple of minutes (random) the video gets stuck and the audio keeps on playing. If I stop the video and start it again it plays a couple of minutes until it gets stuck again.

When I shutdown MediaPortal and play the same file with MPC (included in SAF 4.0 stable) it runs smooth from beginning to the end (720p / 1080p).

I have no clue how to solve this problem. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. If the problem is the hardware I would even consider buying an ATI Radeon card. Thanks...

    My system:
    Shuttle FN78S
    NVIDIA GeForce 8200 (onboard)
    AMD Phenom II X4 910E 2.60 GHz, 4x 512Kb
OCZ Vertex Series SATA II 2.5" 30 GB SSD
Kingston ValueRam Dual Channel 4 GB, PC6400, 800 MHz, Kit Of 2

    Software:

    MediaPortal 1.1.0 RC1
MS Windows XP 32bit SP4 (clean install)

    Skin:
    Monochrome v3.2

    Codec:
    SAF v4.0 unlocked

    NVIDIA Drivers:

    Ethernet Driver (v67.76.1) WHQL
    SataIDE Driver (v10.3.0.21) WHQL
    RAID Driver (v10.3.0.21) WHQL
    RAIDTOOL (v10.3.0.21)
    SMBus (v4.64) WHQL
    SMU (v1.39) WHQL
    GPU Driver(v171.37) WHQL
    Audio Driver (v5.10.00.5010)

Things I’ve also tried, without any positive effect:
    - Playing problems in RC1: TV, radio, AVI, DXVA
    - SAF v5.00 experimental

I forgot to attach the SAF logs, maybe that will help. I checked everything again and I really have no clue what the problem is.
There are a couple of things I can do now:

    - Hope somebody has an idea here.
    - Wait for the new MediaPortal 1.1.0 RC2 or Final release (maybe that will fix the problem).
    - Buy an ATI Radeon GPU, like the SAPPHIRE HD 5450 1GB DDR2 PCIE HDMI (or an other GPU?).

    hoborg:
Thx Hoborg (also for the awesome codec)
I don't think the GPU is overheating, because it runs any 1080p movie smooth with MPC (incl. in SAF) outside MediaPortal.
When I play the video in MediaPortal it plays for a couple of minutes and then the picture gets stuck and the sound keeps on playing, even with 720p content.

    doornjoostje:
    Thx for your response.
I'll wait until the release of RC2 before buying a new GPU. Is there a topic where this is known issue?

Well, if your video play without any problem in Graphstudio, then you are right, must be MP issue.
