    Pfff...Shark007 can go die slowly in a hole. Look at the EULA when installing this piece of crap:

    NOTE: By installing this application, you agree to the installation of the Bing Toolbar or Bing Bar. Furthermore you agree to the following:

    1. What the Contract Covers.
    This is a contract between you and the Microsoft company referenced in section 22. Sometimes the Microsoft company is referred to as 'Microsoft,' 'we,' 'us' or 'our'. This contract applies to any Windows Live, Bing, MSN, Microsoft Office Live, Microsoft Office Online or other Microsoft software or services, including updates, that display or link to this contract and that you use while this contract is in force. All of the software or services are referred to in this contract as the 'service.' Sections 1 through 22 of this contract apply across the service. Sections 23 and 24 apply if the service involves payments to or from Microsoft. Sections 25 through 31 apply only if you use the software or services identified in those sections. Some of these services may not be available in your country.
    Please note that we do not provide warranties for the service. The contract also limits our liability. These terms are in sections 13 and 14, and we ask you to read them carefully.

    2. When You May Use the Service.
    You may start using the service as soon as you have finished the sign-up process. No withdrawal right or other 'cooling off' period applies to the service and you waive any applicable 'cooling off' period, except if the law requires a 'cooling off' period despite your waiver and even when a service starts right away.
    3. How You May Use the Service.
    In using the service, you will:
    * obey the law;
    * obey any codes of conduct or other notices we provide;
    * obey the Microsoft Anti-spam Policy, available at <http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=117951>;
    * keep your service account password secret; and
    * promptly notify us if you learn of a security breach related to the service.

    4. How You May Not Use the Service.
    In using the service, you may not:
    * engage in, facilitate or further unlawful conduct;
    * use the service in a way that harms us or our advertisers, affiliates, resellers, distributors and/or vendors, or any customer of ours or our advertisers, affiliates, resellers, distributors and/or vendors;
    * use any portion of the service as a destination linked from any unsolicited bulk messages or unsolicited commercial messages ("spam");
    * use any automated process or service to access and/or use the service (such as a BOT, a spider, periodic caching of information stored by Microsoft, or "****-searching");
    * use any unauthorized means to modify or reroute, or attempt to modify or reroute, the service;
    * damage, disable, overburden, or impair the service (or the network(s) connected to the service) or interfere with anyone's use and enjoyment of the service;
    * resell or redistribute the service, or any part of the service; or
    * use any unauthorized third-party software or service to access the Microsoft instant messaging network (currently known as the .NET Messenger Service). You can find a list of authorized third-party software at <http://messenger.msn.com/Help/Authorized.aspx>.

    EVEN IF YOU ACCEPT THIS AGREEMENT, IT IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED TO:
    A. Modify the Toolbar in part or in its entirety;
    B. Decompile or reverse engineer the Toolbar.
    SHOULD YOU FAIL TO COMPLY WITH ANY OF THE ABOVE, YOUR RIGHT TO USE THE TOOLBAR WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY TERMINATED. THIS TERMINATION WILL BE IN ADDITION TO ANY CRIMINAL, CIVIL OR OTHER REMEDIES. THE USER MAY CANCEL HIS LICENSE TO USE THE TOOLBAR BY UNINSTALLING AND DESTROYING OR ERASING ALL COPIES OF THE TOOLBAR UNDER HIS CONTROL.

    Ok, sharks was just an example from the top of my head. I've used it with no problems but can not say I know it well. Community is another I have used with great results

    My point was this pak is just to bloated and has been messed with too many times. Great intentions were there to be certain. But its been played with too much

    I'm sorry but this codec pack is just rubbish. Its bloated to no end and renders many standard video files problematic.

    Shark or community is more then enough. This pack destroyed my whole audio video system. Took me hours to clean it out.

    The reason there are 1000 posts with problems is the pack is heavily flawed. Before you try messing with this just try shark007. In 3 minutes you will have all the audio and video playback you want. Again, sorry. But this is just a mess

    Show me one thing i can reproduce...

    BTW, there is easy uninstaller in SAF (just run setup again), so i really dont understand what problem did you have with "Took me hours to clean it out".

    dakotapod,

    Saying that it is rubbish is rude and unfair. This is an open source forum where people generally give constructive criticism (by posting bug reports and logs) to work as a team to solve problems.

    If you have a possible solution to a problem that might help the community then everyone would love you to suggest it, but not in a way that offends others. Particularly someone like Hoborg, who you can see from the posts in this (and the other codec threads) spends a huge amount of time helping other get a woking set of codecs for a wide community of non-codec-experts (irrespective of what you think about the performance of his package).

    Hoborg, please keep up the good work.

    I have just installed SAF, mainly because I wanted to use the Online Video. I cannot use the HD channels anymore. When I go into config I do not get the option of using Cyberlink (from the helpful screen shots at the start of this thread). Am I missing something?

    I have an issue with SAF.

    It seems to break Windows media player (intentional I assume), however I have recently bought Two Worlds Epic edition and none of the cutscenes play. I'm assuming this is a result of SAF disabling Media Player and its VC-1 codec. Any suggestions, or do I have to scrap SAF and use something else?

    Any help would be appreciated, I ran a search for this assuming it to be a common issue but didnt find much

    Use Media Player Classic - Home Cinema ...or VLC. No need to EVER use WMP, in my opinion...

    True, However something is broken between Two Worlds and SAF. I noticed I could "fix" WMP by using Video Decoder on in Microsoft DMO. It now plays stuff in WMP, but still no joy with ingame. I know its not a WMP issue but a codec issue, but I cant seem to work out which one, especially if it works fine in every external player
