DVD video will not use DXVA - it is useless.

Could you please elaborate what you mean when use say DXVA is useless for DVD?

This is my personal experience with PowerDVD MPEG2 decoder.
If i enable DXVA - DVD's opening time was longer, and picture quality was worse then in software mode. CPU usage was nearly the same.
So i don't use it.

Could it be that this is due to you not using a HT3 CPU (like Phenom) with your HD3200IGP?

Advanced de-interlacing is available when using a Phenom processor

So for other ppl (w/780G+Phenom or stronger system) this might not be the same

Because MTV Music Videos plugin don't work with FLV splitter:

I only get black screen when i load a videoclip

OK, i manage to make it "work".
You need to enable MTV music videos + MTV player in MP configuration, and install Adobe Flash player under IE (not under Firefox).
Well, i only get MTV message "copyrights restrict us from playing this video outside the US", so it is absolutely usseles for me.

So it have nothing to do with SAF (by other words, you don't need to disable SAF FLV splitter to make it work).

Thanks hoborg i will try to install adobe flash on iexplorer tomorrow and let you know.

It is possible.
But i realy don't want to spare any more money to buy new hardware. Curently i am very happy with my HTPC setup. DVD playback/live TV are very good in software mode using PowerDVD MPEG2 decoder.
Maybe in future when price falls down, becouse price of AMD Phenom 9350e are simply hight for me and i am not sure if my passive Scythe Ninja can save such CPU from overheating.

DTS stutters

Hi, I have also asked this question in the newcomer forum, but later thought it might be related to the SAF package?

When testing my htpc system with the TV and Receiver, I came across some strange DTS problems.

Some mkv movies with DTS have a strange stuttering sound, while other files with, apparently the same DTS track don't have it, and have normal sound. When looking at the audio properties of both good and bad files, they are a match.

Both of them show in the properties:
DTS 48000Hz 6ch [Audio]

So, I can't find any difference between them. Why is the sound playback good or bad then? Is it decoded badly? I think I have all settings correct, especially as some DTS files are fine....
I have tried MPA, Cyberlink 7.x but found no difference.

BTW...Sound is going through the optical output SPDIF of my Gigabyte GA-MA78 mobo to the receiver.

Hope you didn't do that because of my statement above As I said, you might get better deinterlacing using SW, but it depends on how good your HW (or SW) is. Perhaps an option to select/deselect DXVA would be nice?
(I never tested startup time for DVD w/wo DXVA, so you might have a point here)

Ok, I now have reinstalled everything. A clean XP install.
After this a installed Haali Media Splitter, then SAF 3.11 and the MediaPortal.

Now some files play perfecly but some, like this (that you testet yesterday and just showed a black picture for me) Download Lost S04E01 720p HDTV x264 CTU 001 mkv free at Uploading.com has stutter and plays for about 6-7 secounds, than hangs just displaying two frames stuttering back and forth.

In graphstudio it looks like this:

Could it be something wrong with me not having assign max. shared memory to GPU in BIOS? I´m not sure exactly how to do this thou.

To use graphstudio correctly, you need to start MP in window mode, start some of your video in MP, then start graphstudio and connect to remote graph (not open video file in graphstudio).
Please, do it this way and post another screenshot (you can post it directly here, no need to use imageshack.
To assing memory in BIOS - restart your PC and hold "DEL" key until BIOS screen apear - check your BIOS manual (maybe on manufacturer pages if you dont have manual book) where you can assign memory for iGPU.

Well, a little
I just did some testing, and deinterlacing are much better when DXVA is enabled. DVD open time is OK too. I used PDVD7 decoder before, maybe they did some modifications in PDVD8.

BTW - don't you have any idea why PDVD8 decoder don't apear in MP DirectShow filters configuration?
