My HD-videos (.mkv i think) won't play anymore! The screen is black and the videos don't move forward in time (stays on 00:00).

I think the problem started after i deleted c:\CLVsd.ax (I expected SAF to copy the file, not rely on a file directly on the root, so I cleaned up!). Then i exctracted the file again, with no luck. I have also reinstalled SAF, with CLVsd.ax still on c:\.

    Please help me :)

If you have WinXP + ATI, use Catalyst 8.5, or you will see nice BSOD, freezes, etc 8.6-8.9 is not working in WinXP!!!
If you have Vista + Ati, 8.8 is fine.
If you have ATI 4xxx, use Catalyst 8.12 (8.5 doesn't support 4xxx GPUs)
So if you have a 4xxx-card @ xp, then 8.12. If not: 8.5?
    I have a 3450, and I refuse to use the 8.5 (no 1080p50 force).

Not possible. CLVsd.ax have nothing to do with MKV (only if your MKV contain MPEG2 video)...

You can use 8.12, but choose software decoding for MPEG2 (MPEG2 deintelacing is broken for MPEG2 in this version).

Hoborg, have you been keeping up with the subtitles thread? I'm just curious when we'll see this all implemented together into a working package, MP + MPC-HC + Subs... Thanks.

Hi,what do u mean by "a working package"?I don't think SAF has anything to do with the subtitles patch made by CPP2005,and that patch is already working well for me,even when using SAF.

Sounds like MP 1.0.2 might be right around the corner. I Didn't want you to do anything, just curious if you knew when it was expected. I've given up on trying things ahead of everyone else. I'd rather wait until it all works good.

Well, considering that not even MP 1.0.1 is out i think u will have to wait a bit longer.:(

    SAF 3.43 out!

    * MPC-HC filters updated to v.1.2.1004.0 (memory leak should be fixed)
    * AC3 filter - changed from critical to warning
    - AC3 filter can couse double audio decoding (and make audio not working correctly/desync etc...)

    @ Hoborg,

    Just a question.
The problem you run in to with the AC3filter. Is it that the MPA DTS decoder is always selected even if AC3filter is pointed out in configuration.exe? Or is it the other way around that AC3Filter is always added to the graph even if its not selected.
My experiece was that MPA was always being used even if its not selected. This with a MP1.0 SVN from a while back.

Firstly, i am not using AC3filter.
Problem is, if you choose MPA as decoder, then AC3 filter is sometime added to graph, wich can broke audio decoding. That was reason why i mark AC3 filter as "blacklisted". You can unregister "MpaDecFilter.ax" - but i think you will broke some audio support, like FLAC (wich is not supported by AC3filter i think). I never have problem with MPA - but i have only analog stereo.
AC3 filter failed to play audio from my camcorder...

Did you reinstall Haali media splitter? I would uninstall it and SAF, reboot then install haali and SAF again. I've had the blank screen problem before in MP and this seems to fix it.

Sorry, I meant to say "final package" or "release candidate". Why is everyone so edgy here this weekend? I guess "right around the corner" is subjective. I'm thinking if it comes out this summer that would be great, perhaps that means next week to you? not sure. As for SAF's involvement. It's involved in that it's the package I use and it uses MPC-HC and that's where the subtitle fixes are happening. right? So, once MP is updated to a release candidate then I'll update my htpc. I hope that clears things up! :)

I only asked Hoborg because he seems to be in the know regarding the subtitles. It would be the equivalent of asking a friend if he saw last nights football game or something. Sorry if that was out of line.

Again, thanks to everyone involved for all the great work!

Maybe u misunderstood my previous post...i just tryed to understand your question before i can answer to u.;).If u are waiting for the patch to be officialy included in MP sources,in this case u will have to wait for MP 1.0.2 (atleast Tourettes said so).But this has nothing to do with SAF because with the new subtitles engine and u could use MP+MKV+DXVA+subs with any other decoder that's using h264 hardware acceleration (like the Cyberlink h264 decoder).;)
