Well I checked on another machine, and same problem when I go to install SAF - quartz.dll fails

I definitely have the VMR9 security patch installed on both systems. I would think that would have been the last update to quartz.dll right?

There's something not right with your PDVD check, because I definitely have the latest PDVD MPEG 2 filter, as described in your first post.

New version of PowerDVD MPEG2 (CLVsd 8.4.0.330) is available from PDVD update.

Well I've got two systems with SAF installed now, both complained about the CRC on quartz.dll and both have exactly the same symptoms (no MP4 / MOV/ WMV streams, but all local files work).

My 2nd system also complained I did not have Adobe Flash player installed, but the IE active X most certainly is installed. Even uninstalled it and re-installed it to double check, but SAF insists it's not there.

How do you get the update without installing PDVD? The download only has 8.4.0.205 in it.

Does anyone have the filename in Data1.cab from the patch for the updated CLVsd.ax file? Either it's not in the Data1.cab as the old filename - thus renamed, or I'm missing it.

    Thanks

EDIT: Looks to be _F7CE3A055D84403786CEE695DD54D0C9 in the patch for PDVD9 -> rename to CLVsd.ax (8.4.0.330)

You need to go to the updates section and download the patch for PDVD9 and then rename that exe to zip; then you can extract the file and rename it (per my previous post) to get the 8.4.0.330 version.

Please, try to play some stream, then exit MP and send here LOGs.

Here's a clean set of logs. I tried to play an Apple Trailer (MOV) and something from TedTalks (MP4).

Maybe this is a clue.... I just noticed MPC itself can no longer render MP4 / MOV URl's either. Get this error:
