You need to use up-to-date SAF version (RC1 was used) Please try SAF4.0beta19.
Hi,
I am following this thread since very long and SAF is a great thing.
But I still have problem with Full HD video content. When playback I have stuttering in video (quite small, but recognizable when having moving landscape or similar).
Here is my setup:
Graphic: ATI Radeon 3200 HD (on board)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H (rev.1.0)
4GB RAM
Windows XP, SP3
ATI CCC 9.5
SAF 4.0 beta9
MP 1.0.2
Codec: PDVD9 DXVA enabled
BIOS setting:
- Graphic using 512 MB
- latest BIOS update already done (version F11 from 2009/09/16)
latest chipset and audio drivers installed
What I have already tried:
In Windows:
- turn DXVA off --> not good
- use codec: MPV or ffdshow --> MPV (not good - no DXVA); ffdshow - same as PDVD9; CoreAVC not working at all
- changed from VMR to EVR --> (as expected) worse
- same effect when starting from Windows Media Player, PDVD8 player, or inside MP
. tested with .mkv's (h265 inside)
. BluRay disk directly
. Apple trailers from internet (.mov) (here I think DXVA is not available) using MyTrailers-Plugin
- VLC player: very strong stuttering - not viewable
in BIOS:
- turned Cool'n'Quied to disabled: no effect
- turned GPU frequency to 700 MHz (additionally to CnQ off): no effect
Shall I also try?
- to increase in BIOS the HT frequency - but to which value?
- to change settings in CCC? right now everything is set to "use application settings". what to change?
additional info:
- playing 720p recorded via MP is no problem at all.
- playing DVD no problem
- DXVA is working as CPU load stays below 30%
I read in many forums my hardware should be capable to playback full HD content without problems. Isn't it?
Can you please help me?

Hi Hoborg,
Tried CCC 8.5 - same effect.
Going back to 9.5.
Something else in mind what I could try?

You can try 9.10 too, there was some DXVA update acording to changelog.
BTW, what CPU do you have?

CCC 9.1 I tried as well, as it came with the last chipset-update (accidantly). - same effect. Went back to 9.5 - same.
My CPU is:
AMD DualCore, 4850e 2,5GHz
