sorry for my maybe stupid question :

i hafd read the changelog - but what is the differnce between 21test3 and 21test6?

It is not logged. Mostly FFDShow and MPC filters updates, reworked SAF install logic, etc...
Looks like it is time for beta21"final" :)

Hi Hoborg,

For a while now I am wondering what your view is about updating of MPC filters or ffdshow ones.
I see they are frequently updated. Nearly every new version of SAF contains the latest filters. I am not dissaproving / disliking this ofcourse, but I would just like to know more about why you do this.

Questions I have sometimes about that are:
  • Are you keeping track of the changes made to the filters? Bugs fixing you/we are troubled by etc.
  • Why are you updating them this frequent. > Is a good stable and working filter good enough?
  • What is the benefit you see by updating more frequent?
  • How do you handle possible errors reported here which might be related to new (unknow) introduced bugs in the filter.
  • Do you think it is a good idea to work to one set of filters? This could help the development of MP SVN versions as well. (theory I have about this is that after a new updated MP SVN, SAF needs to be updated often as well. This means 2 changes to a working system simultanious. This could make bug tracking more difficult.... in theory)
Just to have it said; I am a big fan of your SAF codec package. I am very happy with it. :D

Well, I'm just interessted in what and how you think about this. Thank you for the time you can spare thinking about this for me :)

Kind regards,

1) CLVsd.ax - why? Already installed ;)
2) Did you start and pause video playback in MP first?

Hi, I have a problem with sound.

Some blu-ray images when certain audio is selected start playing the file at x10 the speed with corrupted sound.

My home sound system supports optic SPDIF, so I bought a new sound card - Trust make.

I have installed the very latest beta and configured ffdaudio as pro-logicII in Mixer setting. Sometimes any audio that is selected causes problems. Usually it is a very high bitrate sound. More screen shots are attached. Any ideas on this problem?

hoborg/kiwi. After our last conversation, I decided to go and drop some cheddar on a new sound system. I bought a Pioneer VSX-919AH and some Wharfedale Achromatic speakers.

The receiver can decode Dolby True HD and DTS HD via HDMI - is there anything else I need to enable to pass through all audio formats to the receiver? What about sampling rates etc?

Code:
192 kHz/24-bit DAC
DTS-HD Decoder, Dolby TrueHD Decoder
Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-ES/ DTS 96/24, and WMA 9 Pro Decoders
SACD Playback via HDMI (Multi)

I'm hopefully going to set them up tonight, looking forward to in sync audio! :)

All of a sudden I can't playback anything. Why do I always manage to mess up somthing when it's working? Get an error msg about audio codec. All files play perfectly outside mediaportal straight in mpc-hc...

hoborg... get yar ass in here.. ;)

I searched the thread and did not see anything else like this described.

I have what I would describe as Blinking or flashing of video on some video. It always does this on one TV station but never on the others. Once in a while playing a DVD will also do this.

I have attached a very short clip that exhibits this on my system. I think it is related to the PDVD9 decoder but can’t prove it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions…

I am running Win XP SP3
    Unlocked SAF beta 20
My system is Nvidia on board 8300 and AMD 7750 CPU
Output to TV HDMI 720P 60HZ

Also attached is the graph from graph studio

Try to disable DXVA - SATRT - SAF - PDVD MPEG-2 - Disable DXVA
    - looks like Nvidia driver problem.

Of course you are correct! As soon as I disable DXVA the blinking stops. hmm... I guess I will try the latest Nvidia drivers , darn, cause I am not sure if they have fixed the HDMI problem yet....:D
