    Re: SAF v4.00beta (StandAlone Filters) - DXVA ready (MPEG2, H.264 and VC-1).

I can cnform that I am also having problems with AC3 passthrough in the latest SAF. However, weirdly, sound appears to function fine using MPC...so maybe the problem lies in SVN24553?

    Details:

    m2ts file. DTS-HD audio

File will NOT play in mediportal without extreme stuttering, both in picture and sound. Audio is high pitched and badly distorted
Same file plays perfectly in MPC-HC.
Graphstudio builds exactly the same graph for both players

I just downloaded and installed (on a clean machine) saf400beta22 and mediaportal 1.1 RC1.

    It almost works completely!
The only thing is asf and wmv-streams, I can't get them to play.
For the wmv I tried enabling and disabling MS DMO as someone suggested here, but neither works.

and with both options I get in the logfile:

added filter:WMVideo Decoder DMO to graph
added filter:WMAudio Decoder DMO to graph

Is this correct? Or should I do more than regsvr32 WVMDECOD.dll [/u]?

Any ideas? wmv's and asf's stored locally are played correctly

I tried to check this with graphstudio, but it just says: cannot render url

    Hi.
That is normal, SAF auto disable WMV DMO decoder to fix problems in Online Videos plugin. You can reenable it START - SAF - MS DMO - Video decoder ON

    Hi,

after updating (from 3.14 or so) to the latest version of SAF my HTPC randomly freezes while playing xvid movies. It happens with all my xvid files. Some times it happens already after some minutes in other situations i takes up to 1 hour until the system crashs (after that i have to press the resetbutton to restart my system)

Does FFDshow create any logfiles? Where should i start my search to hunt down this error?

    Thx,

    Monchi

P.s.: SAF should get a Sub-Forum to get rid of this monster-thread ;-)

Then it is not a codec issue...
I bet it is mms protocol problem.

    Re: SAF v4.00beta (StandAlone Filters) - DXVA ready (MPEG2, H.264 and VC-1).

    Hi!
    I installed MediaPortal 1.1.0 Beta on a Windows 7 64bit professional machine.
Since mkv-playback stutters with DTS movies I tried different codecs and players.
The only one that worked well was MPC HC and so I wanted to try SAF to fix Mediaportal playback.
I removed all codecs and players except coreavc and vlc.
After installing latest SAF Mediaportal configuration program does not start anymore.
After uninstalling SAF it starts again.
I completely removed MP and all settings / registry ect., installed again and after installing SAF still configuration fails to start.
    Same with latest svn.
Any ideas how to fix this?
    Regards
    Sven

You are not first with similar issue, do some search here.
You should send SAF logs first.
There is good tool to identify such problems known as Fimerit
After SAF install, you should have only one "problem" found - and that is OK.

BTW, MP should be able to skip such errors in registry instead of crash :(

I eventually found out that you are (at least partially) right.
When I play my streams through the WMP (from AxInterop.WMPLib) then they are all working!
I'm not sure why wmp will play them, and the default player won't, but at least it is working for me right now.

    Re: SAF v4.00beta (StandAlone Filters) - DXVA ready (MPEG2, H.264 and VC-1).

    Hello,

On my MediaPortal system (V. 1.0.2), most things (music, dvd, ripped dvd's, television) work fine.
I used to watch BluRay movies on a stand-alone player, but would really like to rip them and play them from MediaPortal.
I rip my BluRays using AnyDvdHD and Clown BD. The movies are ripped to ISO-files, containing the main movie, soundtrack and subtitles (Danish and/or English).

On my other computer I can mount the ISO-files and watch the rips on PowerDVD with no problem.

On MediaPortal, I have AC3filter installed for 5.1 sound using S/Pdiff and Daemon Tools Lite. I am also using the plugin called Moving Pictures. I don't have any external players (like PowerDVD) installed.

My question is now: If I install SAF (unlocked), will I be able to watch my BluRay rips using MediaPortal?
And secondly, should I use internal or external player? (if external, which one?)

I have tried to read through this thread, but I am seriously suffering from information overflow. I am enormously confused about codecs, what to use and what not to use.
My MediaPortal rig has an Intel P4-3.0ghz CPU and I am using an ATI4650 display adapter. For me, it doesn't really matter if the cpu is at 10% or if it is at 60% - as long as my movies play fine and I get no stuttering. (CPU at 100% would be an issue though).

I am sorry if this question has been asked a thousand times already, but there are just too many pages with information to get a usable overview being codec-challenged as I am :)

Any help is very much appreciated.
