    Hello!!

I don´t get any sound!! I have installed saf unlocked and now i don´t get any sound at all.
I also have problems when I play movies, they play but after a while they starting to get unwatchable!!

    Can anyone help me??

    //Sparrismannen

First I would suggest you stick with saf21test<3 for the time being. See if the problems are gone than.

Also, if you expect good help from someone, more information is needed. We can not smell from here what your setup is. :)

You "don't get any sound!!". How have you connected your audio device? Are you using a AC3/DTS capable receiver and connecting it with SPDIF? Or are you using a simple stereo speaker on the desktop?

Regarding the movies becoming unwatchable. This could be related to mpc-hc codec or mediaportal self or even bad graphics card drivers. Again, more information about this is needed about the setup.

Ohh don´t you have that kind of computer so you can smell what anyone else have for setup.

I have Windows XP Pro installed
    Mediaportal 1.1
    SAF21 unlocked I think
    I have a radeon HD3250 grafic card if I don´t remember wrong.

The sound worked fine before I installed SAF, installed SAF to get Online Video to work but instead I don´t get any sound except on you tube and SVT play! How I connect my computer to my TV is by HDMI, both sound and video true the same cable.

Before I installed SAF I had my computer setup like in the guide how to setup codecs in Mediaportal.

Then everything worked okej except that I didn´t get the new channels in online video (TV3 play, TV6 play, TV8 play) to work.

I installed new ATI Catalyst™ 9.12 drives as well when I didn´t get the moves to play!!

    You need anything else?

Yes, there needs to be two downloads.
Thanks, not needed. I need to do all changes myself.

BTW, here is new SAF4.00beta23test 1 with latest MPC and FFDshow - changelog

Guys, if you have problems with passthrough, please try uncheck "AC3 (S/PDIF encode mode)" in FFDShow setting.
If there will be still problems, i will revert back to older FFDShow version before HD audio merge until it will be fixed. There seems to be more problems with new FFDshow builds...

Adding new Cyberlink decoder is next step.

    EDIT2:
BTW, did anyboty already tested new Cyberlink decoder for LiveTV - SD/HD and switch between them?

Yes I tested! Very fast switching between SD and HD! No problems at all!

I think that's because the same codec could be used in both!

What did you mean with the DVD?
I use ffdshow for upscaling with avisynth!

    Good.
I mean you cannot use this new PDVD decoder to view DVDs.
To integrate this new decoder in to SAF mean general rework of almost all SAF part...

Acording to FFDShow thread, this should fix AC3/DTS passthrough. Can you test it?

I will test it when I get home!!

    Re: SAF v4.00beta (StandAlone Filters) - DXVA ready (MPEG2, H.264 and VC-1).

Hey is there a way to show mkv thumbnails in x64 explorer with SAF?

All solutions on google want to install a x64 codec package...

    No idea?

SAF was, is and will be x86 only.

Looks like i found first problem with new CyberLink Video Decoder (PDVD9) - it will crash on Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family (i945G0) in DXVA mode. Old version - no problem.

    Sparrismanne,
Thanks for the information. Helps a lot.
If the suggestion from Hoborg doesnt help, can you also check what audio renderer/codec is used in mediaportal.
Also a couple of questions/remarks to help you in the right direction.
-It should be easy to know if you have the locked/unlocked version of saf. To unlock SAF, you have to install a file manually in the system folder. But if this has or hasnt been done, it shouldnt have an effect on the audio output part... (i think.)
-Did you already programm ffdshow - audio setup according to your needs? (output section)
-During SAF installation, did you enable/disable spdif passthrough? (Yes/No question during install)
-In mediaportal configuration.exe: Do you have "ffdshow audio decoder" set as PostProcessing in video/dvd/tv menu?

Hope this helps. Good luck :)

I have the unlocked version of SAF. I don´t know if I have installed any wget manually in the system folder? What is that?
I haven´t done anything with FFDShow - audio setup after I installed SAF. There shouldn´t be anything that I should do??
Hmm don´t remember if I answered yes or no on that question. Can I see this anywhere?
I have set FFDShow audio decoder as postprocessing in mediaportal configuration!

I have setup mediaportal as shown in the first post here in this thread. FFDshow audio in both MPEG/AC3 decoder and AAC audio decoder.

-It should be easy to know if you have the locked/unlocked version of saf. To unlock SAF, you have to install a unlock-file manually in the system folder. But if this has or hasnt been done, it shouldnt have an effect on the audio output part... (i think.)
-Did you already programm ffdshow - audio setup according to your needs? (output section)

I have set FFDShow audio decoder as postprocessing in mediaportal configuration!

I have setup mediaportal as shown in the first post here in this thread. FFDshow audio in both MPEG/AC3 decoder and AAC audio decoder.

Actually, I think you should be able to see if you anwsered Yes/No to the question by looking in the ffdshow audio setup.
If said YES, AC3 and DTS passthrough are ticked in the "Output" tab.

You mention you use audio/video through one HDMI cable towards your TV. I have to admit I am unaware what the correct settings are for that setup. Is the TV able to handle the AC3/DTS stream? I doubt it but I dont know for sure. If the TV cannot handle AC3/DTS I think you should use 2ch(or 6ch) PCM audio through the HDMI cable. AC3/DTS passthrough should be unticked in that case and "prefer/first PCM audio" should (I think) than be ticked in ffdshow audio setup.
Again, I am un familiar with this config and Im not sure I am saying things correctly. Does anyone know for sure what the setup for this should be?

Okej I will look when I get home and I don´t think that the TV can handle AC3/DTS stream. I will try when I get home and if it works I will come back on my video problem!!
