Hoborg,

I am trying to view a webstream from uitzendinggemist.nl. The most are asf files.

Every time i get the error can't play the file.

One suggestion was to enable DMO. Even if I enable DMO I still can't play these files.

This problem happens on two machines with the same Windows 7 installation. I use the lateste *unlocked* stable release of SAF.
As a attachment i've put a log from media portal.

1) Do not use EVR under WinXP!
2) Update your WinXP (quartz.dll is outdated)
3) If you open your video in Graphstudio, did it work?
4) Try rename *.AVI to *.Divx

Hi hoborg,

1) I changed it to VMR9
2) Done
3) Yes it work (see the screenshot)
4) Tried

But it still don't work :(

Well, if it is working in Graphstudio, then it is not codec problem.

OK, then I must wait for it. Thank you for answering! ;)

Another Question, when I install SAF, I get the message:

OS: Microsoft Windows XP (unknown) x86 (5) C:\WINDOWS
Build: 2600.xpsp_sp3_qfe.090804-1456
VMR9 ver.: 6.5.2600.5822 status Failed!

I have the newest DirectX installed and Catalyst 9.8, why is the status for VMR9 failed??

This ASF redirect to mms:// protocol. I think it is not codec related.

Not really SAF related, but I'm having some codec issues which I thought someone might be able to help with.

Whilst it used to work OK I now find that if I use the Nvidia decoder I get audio but a blank screen. On checking with graphstudio, I see that the Video out pin isn't connected to anything, only the Line21 pin is connected to Line 21 Decoder 2, which then goes to VMR input 1.

I updated from Cat 9.8 to 10.2 last night and today found that LiveTV was very stuttery, so I updated to the revised core.dll, which has fixed the problem. The only issue with the new core.dll is that if I select the Nvidia decoder, it uses the Elecard one instead.

Updating production HTPC

Hi Hoborg and everyone!

I was much more active on this thread about a year ago, when I last updated my Media Portal, SAF and ATI drivers.

My HTPC has been working great over this last year and I've been using SAF 3.4X and MP 1.0 with patch to get subtitles and DXVA working, and the time has come for me to upgrade to latest MP and SAF since I'm buying a fanless ATI 4550 with HDMI output (tired of messing with black levels of DVI<->HDMI conversion, also can't get 5450 here on Brazil yet).

Hoborg, on SAF 4 stable will I be able to get subtitles to work with DXVA without any patch?

Hoborg guided me a couple of days ago when installing SAF 4.0. And subtitles works like a charm right out of the box with SAF 4.0 :) No need for patching and such :)

Currently I have MP 1.1.0 RC1 and SAF 4.00RC2.
ATI HD3200 integrated and an A/V Receiver.
I activated passtrough when installed SAF.
Passtrough settings are according instructions on the first post (note: adding ffdshow audio decoder to MP postprocessing works for me the same as not adding it).

First:
If I switch to 1080 (rather using autorefresh or forcing the desktop): Audio is slightly out of sync, only some miliseconds, but no perfect lip sync. This happens with every footage (SD, HD) I play, regardless fps, resolution or audio tracks. However, if I switch to 720 this is not happening (instead, I suffer of judder effect when playing 23.976 movies).

If I set HDMI audio (no audio passtrough), this is not happening.

I tried applying Delayon FFDShow, no improvement.

So, the only way for me to watch a 23.976 movie with no judder and audio sync is setting 1080p/24 and HDMI audio, but I would like to keep my A/V receiver (which is useless with these settings).

Can I try other workarounds?

Thanks in advance.
